While the Pokemon series has changed a lot over the years, one of the biggest additions to the game came in generation six with Pokemon X & Y, bringing the first games that allowed the player to customize their characters. While the first games to feature character customization might have been rudimentary, this feature was expanded upon in Sun & Moon as well as Sword & Shield.
Galar features many different boutiques across its region, most of them found in the major cities that also hold Pokemon Gyms. Though, not all cities will have a boutique or hairstylist in town. On top of this, each boutique will have slightly a different range of clothing available to the player, making it necessary to explore each one in order to find the outfit that the player finds most appealing.
9 Hair Style Options
While each boutique has a slightly different range of clothing, each hairstylist will have the exact same range of options no matter which city the player is in. However, the player can get more hairstyles if they have the Expansion Pass installed, which will add the following for males:
- Man Bun
- Punk Hawk
- Side-part Fade
The female character has significantly more hairstyles than the male character and even more added hairstyles in the Expansion Pass split into four categories:
- Messy Bun
- Short and Undercut
- Punk Pigtails
- Elegant Updo
Female characters also have a lot more makeup options than male characters, allowing the player to change the appearance of not only their eye color and eyebrow shape, but also lip color and eyelash shape as well, making them the preferred gender option if players are wanting to customize their characters with greater freedom.
8 The Wedgehurst Boutique
The first boutique that players will come across is located in Wedgehurst, which is the only town that has a boutique but not a hairstylist. The options here are fairly cheap and standard, as is to be expected for a boutique in the first town. However, there are several Casual Tees available in Wedgehurst that aren’t available anywhere else, most notably the quite expensive:
- Arcanine Art shirt
- Great Wave, Greater Dragon (featuring a Gigantamax Duraludon)
Male-specific options include:

7 Motostoke Boutique
The Motostoke boutique has a handful of unique items once the player has obtained the Style Card, such as:
- Casual Tee #7 (featuring Gigantamax Appletun or Flapple, depending on the version being played)
- Casual Tee #8 (featuring Gigantamax Gengar)
- Casual Tee #9 (featuring Gigantamax Grimmsnarl)

Female characters also have additional options if they have the Style Card from the Isle of Armor expansion, which adds the following items to the boutique:

5 Circhester
Seeing how Circhester is a much colder location, it makes sense that the outfits here are more suited to a colder climate. While the boutique does have heavy winter jackets and large, warm hats, if the player has the Style Card, they can also obtain more pieces of the Punk outfit, as well as a few pieces that allow the player to look like Chairman Rose. For males, the available options are:

With the Style Card, female characters will be able to purchase the same Punk outfits that the male counterparts can, though the additional Casual Tee design isn’t available. In its place, female characters can buy:
- Punk Skirt
- Punk Vest
4 Wyndon
Despite being the final boutique that players can use, the Wyndon boutique doesn’t have a lot of high price, unique options and is distinctly missing unique outfits like the Karate, Nurse, and Kommo-O style outfits that appeared in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. However, Wyndon does have a handful of items that round out other outfit pieces found in previous boutiques.
For male characters, the most notable additions include:
- Tracksuit Jacket
- Motorcycle Jacket
- Trackie Bottoms

- Loafers
- Creepers
- Leather-Trimmed Bag
- Sports Travel Bag

While the Chairman Rose outfit pieces aren’t available to female characters, they do get a few additional options if players have the Style Card that allows them to purchase the following:
- Designer Motorcycle Jacket
- Party Dress
- Party Tights
- Luxury Pumps
- Luxury Rucksack
- Lace Party Gloves
3 Isle of Armor
The Isle of Armor doesn’t add a whole lot in the way of outfits, though it does give the player the Dojo outfit from the Master Dojo as well as several extra hairstyles, most notably the Man Bun. If the player completes the Isle of Armor Dex, they will also be gifted with the Replica Gold Crown along with a handful of useful items, while the fashion designer, found right next to the Pokedex lady, will give the player a whole new outfit if they pay him 3000.
2 Crown Tundra
The Crown Tundra expansion adds a few new items to the game, the most notable of which is the Expedition Uniform, given to the player by Peony, and the Gold Expedition Uniform, which can be unlocked by finishing the three Legendary Clues that he gives to the player. Peonia also has a random chance to give the player either the Futuristic Monocle or Futuristic Shades, the former belonging to Ghetsis and the latter belonging to Lysandre, which she will give the player after they have completed some Dynamax Adventures runs. Finally, players can unlock more outfits through the fashion designer from the Isle of Armor if they have already received the first set from him.
After beating the Galarian Star Tournament at least once, talk to him in the Pokemon League building to receive a unique purple outfit, while talking to him again once Regielecki or Regidrago have been caught will grant the player one based on their respective designs. If Meltan or Melmetal has been transferred into Sword & Shield or caught during a limited event, he will also give the player a Hex Nut hat based on their designs.
1 Unlockable Uniforms
There are a handful of uniforms that the player doesn’t need to purchase in order to obtain, aside from those given during the Expansion Pass stories. The main unlockable outfits are the gym uniforms, some of which can also be bought from Pokemon gyms and cover the types that aren’t used by the respective gym leaders. If the player has taken part in Ranked Online battles, they will be given a neon-style outfit, while completing a run of the Battle Tower in any format will grant the player with a Battle Tower uniform.
