Players of Yakuza Kiwami 2 on PC can now stroll the streets of Yakuza‘s Kamuro-Cho with a gender-bent Kazuma Kiryu in a new mod for the game. The Dragon of Dojima’s new look may be the perfect reason for fans, and even newcomers, to revisit one of the best series in video games.
Yakuza Kiwami 2, a remake of the PlayStation 2’s Yakuza 2, was initially released on PC in May 2019, and fans of the series have been modding the game ever since. This mod, in particular, sees the protagonist Kazuma Kiryu gender-bent allowing players to experience the game as a female version of Kazuma Kiryu.
The mod, created by RyuHachii, is available on Nexus Mods titled “Genderbent Kiryu K2.” The mod lets players play the entire game as a female Kazuma Kiryu. Though it can get a little strange in cutscenes, the mod works well during normal gameplay. “Genderbent Kiryu K2” is already proving to be a hit with the fans, and RyuHachii has already added more alternate outfits to the mod, so it is definitely worth checking out.
As the iconic lead character of the Yakuza franchise, Kazuma Kiryu has captured the hearts of many fans of the series before handing over the reins to Ichiban Kasuga in last year’s Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Despite the fact that Yakuza is still considered a “niche” series by Sega, the popularity of the series seems to be growing more and more, and fan projects like this mod seem to be gaining more attention.

The series seems to constantly inspire creativity in its players, which is no surprise due to the franchise’s general wackiness. The most recent entry to the series, Yakuza: Like A Dragon was well-reviewed, even though it introduced a new main character change the traditional brawler combat to a turn-based RPG. The Yakuza series is never afraid to try new things, and neither are its fans. It also helps that between all the strange and wacky side quests, the games always have an emotional story that fans have connected with, and that blend of emotion and humor is one of the secrets of Yakuza’s continued success.
