NPCs have been at the center of numerous Fortnite challenges since they debuted at the beginning of Season 5, and players will need to turn to them once again during Week 15. Indeed, there are several new tasks that focus on Fortnite‘s NPCs, and one in particular instructs fans to hire a Character. Fortunately, hiring an NPC is quite a simple thing to do, and players that read on should have no trouble completing this Season 5 challenge.
The first step to tackling this task is to obtain a number of Gold Bars in Fortnite. Specifically, players will need 100 Bars in order to hire a Character, and these objects can be earned by completing the Bounties offered by NPCs and looting Chests. While many fans will undoubtedly already have the requisite number of Gold Bars, this will be the most time-consuming part of the challenge for those that do not.
With 100 Gold Bars in hand, players are now ready to hire a Character, and there are several NPCs that can be targeted. To make locating a suitable NPC as easy as possible, the map that is found below highlights the precise locations where hirable characters will always appear. Notably, there are several other Fortnite NPCs that can be hired, but they are mobile and thus not as simple to find consistently.
- Reese: In the hangar at the northeast corner of Dirty Docks.
- Lexa: In the house on the east side of Hunter’s Haven.
- Mave: On the coast at the southeast corner of the map.
- Mancake: At the Butter Barn south of the Zero Point.
- Bullseye: At Steamy Stacks.
- Longshot: On the hill to the east of Misty Meadows.
- Bandolier: In the house southeast of Slurpy Swamp.
Regardless of the specific NPC that a Fortnite player chooses to visit, the process for hiring them is always the same. That process is to approach the Character, interact with them, and select the hire option from the menu that appears at the bottom of the screen. Fans should receive immediate indication that they have completed the challenge upon confirming the hire, and the NPC will follow them around for the rest of the match.
To note, players may want to address a couple of the other Week 15 challenges with the NPC before they proceed to hire them. Fans that visit Lexa, for example, can complete Fortnite‘s get intel from a Character challenge ahead of enlisting her services, which can lead to some very efficient XP gains.
