If you’re going to try and explore a Viking wasteland, then the least you can do is find a good start line, especially when you have to fight off mythical creatures along the way. From ferocious dragons to stag who use lightning as a weapon, players are going to need all the help they can get to survive Valheim‘s world. Luckily, brave souls have already braved the unknown and found some choice spots to begin your journey.
With so many things that can help you along the way, it really depends on your play style as to whether one spot or another is the best. Still, some manage to stand out from the crowd for their closeness to bosses or mountain of assets. These spots are only so great because of how bad it can be, leaving players in the middle of nowhere with few chances to get ahead without vast travel.
6 Seed: W2hUEJUEcM
Starting out with 2 bosses on the island doesn’t seem like one of the best starts you could get but it’s the island’s extras that make up the worth. Giving players plenty of crypts and dungeons to tackle and build up resources, it also makes every kind of metal available from the start.
Setting the player up for success, the spread of metals will also replace the trader, who isn’t anywhere close. Slowing down the pace of the game compared to some of the other starting points, it gives you a chance to properly build your character up without jumping right into boss fights.
5 Seed: Helloworld
Instead of all the bosses being on the same island, this seed gives you 2 bosses that are within striking distance as soon as you boot up. Eikthyr and Moder aren’t exactly enemies that you want to take on right away but luckily the spawn has an answer for that too, putting players right beside the items that will help protect them and take down their enemies.
This seed also has a swamp that offers up a big pile of Iron for players to take advantage of. Setting up your character with the best gear possible is a fast track to taking out the bosses very quickly, catapulting the player into the best parts of the game without traveling too far from home base.
4 Seed: 42069lolxd
While other seeds are focused on getting to the action as soon as possible, this one will give you easy access to Haldor and access to all his helpful items. The most important being the fishing rod that will give you infinite food, no matter how far out you decide to travel.
You can make a hammer, increase your carry weight, and produce light without the need for a torch, all very convenient for the game outside of combat. Having such a useful resource so close by is a critical point that most players will give up in search of quick glory, running into the tough battles before securing success.
3 Seed: t9n3WG6dFk
Tired of traveling through swamps only to find they don’t have a crypt to mine iron? This is the seed for you. Starting beside a large swamp area that is littered with crypts that contain one of the biggest deposits that have been found in the game so far.
If you can fend off the enemies that appear in the sea of crypts and manage to extract all the iron, it will be hard to find a powerful piece of equipment that you can’t craft. Mining all that iron is no easy task but if you can push through you’ll be much better prepared for the challenges ahead.
2 Seed: Odinisking
Putting players in the center of a big island isn’t usually an ideal starting spot, especially one so dominated by Black Forest. However, despite the mass of trees, the island has small sections of every biome in the game, opening up the enemies and items that players can get their hands on.
This combined with the fact that all 5 bosses are nearby, 4 of them being on the starting island, makes getting serious progress quickly a walk in the park. The cherry on top being the trader also located on your starting island, giving players access to the items quickly before they travel.

The best seed in the game and the easiest starting point for anyone that wants to avoid all the excess traveling, it turns the game into a speed run through all bosses and biomes. With each boss just a short walk away and one of the best merchants in the game just south of the starting point, experienced players have no excuse not to make quick work of the challenge
You even start out on an easy continent that has every biome in the game in abundance. There isn’t much important content in the game that even requires traveling and leaving your island. With ocean sailing almost being mandatory if you want to get through the game, this seed stand at the top of the list.
