‘Attack On Titan’ Series Finale Trailer Teases The Most Epic War Yet

Ahead of what appears to be its last episode ever, Attack on Titan Final Season has released a brand-new explosive trailer that will surely have viewers on the edge of their seats. It’s a particularly shaky time for longtime fans of the show – not only because the upcoming episode will mark the end of one of the most titanic anime series of all time, but also because there’s a possibility that fan-favorite leads could be seeing their definitive end as well.

According to the trailer description provided by Crunchyroll, the fourth season (which takes place four years after the third) will “culminate in an epic war that will ultimately determine the fate of humanity.” The clips featured in the trailer echo that description, showing scenes that include Eren’s first transformation after the time-skip, as well as Mikasa duking it out with the Warhammer Titan.

Such scenes were actually taken from previously aired episodes, which is likely a strategic move on Crunchyroll‘s part to avoid leaking any big spoilers. With that in mind, any new clips that are shown are brief and cut almost immediately to the next. But even in those split seconds, it’s clear that the episode is going to have a lot of blood and a lot of high energy. Perhaps the most interesting part of the trailer is its title, which reads “season finale.” Many fans have theorized that since it doesn’t say “series finale,” the show could still be up for more even after the last episode.

It has already been reported multiple times that the fourth season will definitely be the final one, so it’s hard to imagine a fifth season to follow; however, a Part 2 could be a possibility. Fans have referenced the Attack on Titan manga in support of this theory, which typically reveals important plotlines ahead of the anime. As there are still events in the manga that occur beyond what is expected for the last episode, there is speculation that the show will not fully wrap up with the season finale.

Should the rest of the Attack on Titan manga not be adapted in Part 2, there’s always the chance for a film to be made instead. Perhaps they can take notes from the Demon Slayer movie, which adapted a story arc from the manga as a two-hour film that became a huge success.

With a massively loyal fanbase that includes even the likes of Star Wars’ John Boyega and Black Panther‘s Michael B. JordanAttack on Titan Final Season has big expectations to meet. Fans will just have to wait and see if the show will deliver the satisfying conclusion it promises.

The last episode of Attack on Titan Final Season will air on March 28.
