Fortnite Releases New Season 6 Teaser | Game Rant

The excitement for Fortnite‘s upcoming Season 6 is reaching a boiling point. Fortnite communities across social media are excitedly speculating about what’s coming next for the battle royale. Season 6 officially launches on March 16, which is just a few days away. That means that things are about to get very crazy in Fortnite over the next few days. And Epic Games isn’t wasting any time, as it’s already begun sharing teasers for the opening of Fortnite Season 6.

The teaser comes from Fortnite‘s official Twitter account and is true to the definition of a tease. It features a “Reality Log” audio diary from Season 5 protagonist Agent Jonesy with several cryptic images floating in the background. Jonesy addresses the ongoing situation regarding the Zero Point and hints at future action, but otherwise doesn’t make entirely clear what’s going to happen next. Players will have to figure that out on their own.

There are two key ideas to convey in the Fortnite Season 6 teaser. The first is that the Zero Point has become entirely unstable and that if it gets any worse, something very bad is going to happen. The second is that Agent Jonesy is lashing out at the Imagined Order for doing nothing as the Zero Point gets out of control. Further, Agent Jonesy heavily implies that he’s done doing what the IO is telling him to do and will instead take action on his own.

Exactly what Agent Jonesy plans to do is unclear, because the entire situation regarding him and IO is unclear. It’s known that Agent Jonesy spent Season 5 gathering hunters to keep people from escaping the Loop, a meta-reference to the time-loop players are experiencing by playing Fortnite. How exactly escaping the Loop via the Zero Point works remains to be discovered, as does what the Zero Point’s instability means for the Loop and the players stuck inside of it.

It’s a confusing situation on paper, to be sure, but what’s important is that Agent Jonesy’s teaser offers a simple perspective on the situation that players can follow. Fortnite players will be able to understand things by seeing what Jonesy sees. Or, at the very least, they’ll understand them to the degree that Epic Games wants them to understand.

In the end, Fortnite‘s ongoing story‘s main priority is to create a fun experience with big moments and lots of surprises. It doesn’t always need to make a lot of sense. That’s the true value in this teaser. It’s telling fans to look forward to the arrival of March 16 and the events leading into it. Fortnite players should sit back and enjoy the rise.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.
