The Anemo Hypostasis is one of three hypostasis bosses that Genshin Impact players will face across Mondstadt. Unlike the Trounce Domain weekly bosses, Genshin Impact players can fight the Anemo Hypostasis multiple times per week as long as they have the 40 resin required to claim the rewards from beating the boss.
Players can find the Anemo Hypostasis in the Stormbearer Mountains region of Mondstadt, north of the waypoint in the area. If the boss is not on cooldown, players will see the cube in the center of the arena, and the fight will begin when players get close to the enemy.
Like the other hypostasis bosses, there is no definitive party setup that is optimal for taking on the Anemo Hypostasis. However, players should not rely on Anemo DPS characters such as Venti or Jean, as their elemental abilities will have no effect on the boss’s HP.
The fight against the Anemo Hypostasis will be significantly less challenging than the Geo Hypostasis but will be slightly more challenging than the Electro Hypostasis due to the complexity of some of its attacks. Once players get a comfortable grasp of the boss’s attack patterns, defeating the Anemo Hypostasis will prove to be easy.
The first move that the Anemo Hypostasis will utilize when starting the fight is its Crystalfly ability. During the move, the Hypostasis will fly into the air and transform into a giant crystalfly before firing two gusts of air at the player. This move can be easily avoided by stepping outside the Anemo pool that telegraphs where the attack is set to land.
One of the Anemo Hypostasis’ most common attacks – which is also shared by the Electro Hypostasis – is its clap ability. During this move, the Hypostasis will charge towards the player and form a wall before clapping the two sides together. To avoid the attack, simply dash away or move to the side when the Hypostasis has morphed into the wall.
Another ability that the Anemo Hypostasis shares with the Electro Hypostasis is its Missile ability. When cast, the Hypostasis will hover in the sky and proceed to shoot three anemo-charged missiles at the player that deal AOE damage. While the ability may look like a signature move, the missiles can be easily avoided by moving around the arena.
One of the best times to deal damage to the Anemo Hypostasis is while it is casting its Vacuum ability. After casting the move, the Hypostasis will begin to pull the player towards its exposed core. During the ability, players should deal as much damage as quickly as possible before the Hypostasis stops pulling the player towards its core. After the Hypostasis concludes pulling, the players must quickly dash away from the boss’s core to avoid taking damage as it begins to put itself back together.
At a certain point in the fight, the Hypostasis will generate numerous tornados around the arena that the player must avoid. During this ability, the tornados will absorb any elemental attacks, so it is important not to have any elemental abilities such as Klee mines in the vicinity as players will have to contend with fire tornados. After the ability concludes, the tornados will transform into an elemental orb that can be used by the Hypostasis to regain 5% of its hp for each orb. To prevent this, players must use wind gust to obtain the orbs before the Hypostasis has a chance to consume them.
When players reduce the Anemo Hypostasis’ health to 5%, the enemies will move to the center of the arena and generate 4 floating anemo orbs, along with several wind tunnels. During this move, players have a short window of time to use the wind tunnels to obtain the anemo orbs as quickly as possible by flying through them. If the player fails to obtain an orb, the Hypostasis will regain 15% of its health for each orb missed. If the player collects all of the orbs, the boss’s health will remain unchanged, and players can complete the fight by dealing a small amount of damage to the enemy.
After players successfully defeat the Anemo Hypostasis, they will receive several Vayuda Turquoise gem fragments in addition to several Hurricane Seeds. Additionally – depending on the player’s Adventure rank – the boss can also drop several high-level Gladiator and Wanderer’s Troupe set artifacts.
Genshin Impact is available for Mobile, PC, and PS4, with PS5 and Switch versions in development.
