Valheim: How To Use Console Commands & All Console Commands

Valheim has been taking the world by storm and it’s easy to see why. Exploring Viking Purgatory while trying to survive and thrive against harsh enemies is an incredibly fun experience alone, let alone with a whole group of friends playing co-op online.

One of the coolest parts about the game is how customizable it can become with Console Commands. Players have the ability to seriously alter their worlds using these or various cheat codes which makes their gameplay experience that much more unique and enjoyable.

Being able to enter in commands is simple. Players just need to click the F5 button which brings up the Console Command Box. From here, players should enter in imacheater and press enter to unlock the game’s full potential! It’s worth noting that console commands will not work outside of single-player. Yes, this means none of these commands will work in a multiplayer server. The only exception to this rule is Server Admin Commands.

Server admin commands are perfect for those who want to host a dedicated server while being able to keep things in check. These can do everything from kicking players from the server to saving the state of the world. Here are all of the Server Admin Commands and what they do.

  • help – List all commands.
  • info – Print system info.
  • save – Force save of world.
  • ping – Show ping.
  • kick [name/ip/userID] – Kick player from server.
  • ban [name/ip/userID] – Ban player from server.
  • unban [name/ip/userID] – Unban player from server.
  • banned – List banned players.
  • lodbias [0-5] – Set draw distance for server.

The biggest part of being able to enter console commands is the ability to use Spawn Commands. These codes allow players to spawn anything they want on the map in massive numbers. Want to fight three bosses at once? Go ahead! Need an entire pack of wolves to quickly tame? There they are!

There are loads of these commands that players can use. Thankfully, an amazing Reddit user named Denogrim was able to compile them all for folks who want to find them. To use these codes, players should enter them as spawn [item] [quantity] [level]. Here is an example: spawn Coins 44.

Just remember that spawning massive amounts of items could cause the game to crash or have other unexpected glitches or consequences. Use these godlike powers carefully!

While not directily a console command, Creative Mode in the game can make it easier to interact with any other items spawns into the game. Players simply have to type in debugmode to enable it. Once they do, three keys will trigger special effects in the game.

  • Z – Pressing Z while in Creative Mode will allow players to enter Flying Mode
  • K – Pressing K while in Creative Mode kills all enemies in the area.
  • B – Pressing B while in Creative Mode allows players to repair any items without a Workbench, along with free placements of any items.
