Balan Wonderworld is a colorful 3D platformer that will be releasing later this month. Balan Wonderworld’s demo didn’t leave some players with the best impression of the game due to various issues they experienced. While that ended up hurting some of the initial hype for the game, there is some good news.
Despite the demo’s lukewarm reception, Balan Wonderworld‘s developer plans to fix some of the issues raised by players. In a recent blog post, producer Noriyoshi Fujimoto revealed the game will be receiving a day one patch that will fix some of the problems players brought up about the demo. The day one patch will release the same day that Balan Wonderworld launches on March 26.
In the blog, Fujimoto provided details about Balan Wonderworld’s gameplay and setting while sharing what the day one patch will cover upon release. The issues this patch will fix include adjusting movement controls for the game and the camera. The patch will also rebalance the game’s difficulty for its official release. Of course, there are other issues players voiced about the game, but not all of them will be addressed in the patch.
Fujimoto points out that at this stage in Balan Wonderworld’s development, the game won’t be able to incorporate every piece of player feedback. So, not all of the problems will be fixed by the time the game comes out. However, the developers are using this day one patch to balance out the game and iron out some of the issues they can address so close to the game’s release.
While Fujimoto doesn’t say if there will be another patch after Balan Wonderworld’s release, it’s not unlikely. Nowadays, various video games regularly receive patches and updates from developers to fix issues after the games are released, and Balan Wonderworld could receive another patch after the first. Another one could already be in the works to cover any other issues frequently raised by players.
The developers could fix more issues after the game’s release, however this has not been confirmed by any of the developers or Square Enix. The game is currently one week away from release, and players will get their hands on the final product next Friday. By then, players will be able to see the results of the day one patch for Balan Wonderworld and provide their feedback again.
Balan Wonderworld releases March 26, 2021, on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
