Twitch streamer Kiaraakitty has been banned for the second time in 2021. While the reasoning behind her ban may seem mysterious, videos from Kiaraakitty’s most recent Twitch stream point to a likely cause.
Unlike other controversial Twitch streamers such as Alinity and CodeMiko, Kiaraakitty, also known as Kiara, isn’t a gaming streamer. Rather, the Singaporean content creator does what’s known as real-life streaming, often hot tub streaming. Many female streamers have spoken out against these types of sessions, feeling they promote sexism. However, Kiaraakitty isn’t a stranger to bans due to other reasons as well. In the past, she was banned for harassing a stranger during a stream. But, just as with most female content creators on the platform, her Twitch bans are often very short-lived.
Fans of Kiaraakitty aren’t surprised to see her banned yet again as she’s received suspensions every so often for years now. According to her viewers, this time Kiara was banned live during the stream, which many find not surprising as the titles she puts out are meant to be lewd to attract people. It seems that her most recent ban was due to her last hot tub livestream, where she and four other women were wearing bikinis in a jacuzzi.
While it wasn’t the Twitch streamer herself, one of Kiara’s friends in the video had a slight wardrobe mishap. It was brief and she addressed the situation quickly, but it didn’t stop Kiaraakitty from receiving an indefinite ban. However, some Redditors believe the friend to be a semi-famous Singaporean DJ who is working to take the clips down. Whatever the case, Kiara has not yet commented on the ban or confirmed if the wardrobe malfunction is, in fact, the reason for the ban.
This situation isn’t unlike Alinity’s own wardrobe mishap that occurred last year. While she’s more famously known to have thrown her cat over her head during a game of Apex Legends, Alinity often faces backlash from the Twitch community for her extremely short bans. In response to the 24-hour suspension she received, Alinity even tried to extend the ban to 3 days, also believing it to be too short to be considered a punishment.
When comparing to Alinity’s wardrobe-related ban, Kiaraakitty probably won’t be offline for very long. When she was banned back in January, it lasted a short 24 hours. Some speculate this was due to her lewd titles while others say it was because she was drunk on stream. Kiaraakitty’s video titles could be a contributing factor to the current Twitch ban.
