Deadpool and Wolverine are two of the most favorite superheroes. But other than that and their somewhat similar powers, they’re completely different. Deadpool has very few boundaries, there aren’t many things he wouldn’t do. Unlike most superheroes, he realizes he lives in the comics or in movies, and does whatever he wants.
Wolverine, on the other hand, is much more serious. Considering his long life and many tragic losses, it’s no wonder Deadpool’s special brand of humor might be too much for Wolverine. However, fans dream about seeing the two of them in a movie side by side, and the film might, in fact, be as amazing as some memes suggest.
10 Missing Wolverine
As of right now, Wolverine is still dead in the movies. Of course, the MCU could easily bring him back alongside the rest of the X-Men. If anybody would appreciate Wolverine’s return and revival, it’s Deadpool. The red-clad antihero has been looking for Wolverine except he can’t quite find him. Luckily, he has his metal detector at hand. When Wolverine does come back to life and learns about this, chances are he’ll be super angry at Deadpool searching for his grave. It’s hard to tell what Deadpool would do with it once he would find it.
9 Deadpool Needs A Do-Over
The main reason why Deadpool and Wolverine film needs to happen is that Deadpool deserves a do-over. Wolverine was alright in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009). He had much stronger moments in different films, but he was alright. Deadpool, on the other hand, had very little in common with his comic-book persona. He was only remarkable thanks to the fact how disappointing he was. The real Deadpool would have a field day working with Wolverine. And he definitely wouldn’t end up with his mouth sewn shut.
8 Deadpool’s Tiny Hand
Even though Deadpool hadn’t appeared in Logan (2017), he believes otherwise. Or, more precisely, Deadpool’s actor Ryan Reynolds does. According to Reynolds, it’s Deadpool whose hand is Logan holding in the film’s poster. Unfortunately, as the audience later learned, it wasn’t Deadpool but the young mutant X-23. If Deadpool and Wolverine ever get their duo film, perhaps the poster for it could look similar.
7 Wolverine’s Nightmare
Logan was a post-apocalyptic film. The Deadpool series is mostly an action-comedy. Some might think it’s not possible to combine these two approaches but that’s not true. All the filmmakers would need to do would be to put Deadpool and Wolverine together.
Deadpool would keep joking which would take care of the comedy part. And as for the postapocalyptic story, well, Wolverine would eventually live out everyone and Deadpool would be the only other remaining person. That’s Wolverine’s worst nightmare.
6 Ryan Reynolds Approves
One of the main reasons why Deadpool and Wolverine film needs to happen is because it has a basis in real life. Hugh Jackman seemed to have given up the role of Wolverine in Logan (2017). But if anybody can convince him to change his mind and reprise the role one more time, it’s Ryan Reynolds. The two actors seem to get along well, and Reynolds likes to make fun of Jackman on social media, especially on Twitter.
5 Two Undying Heroes
It’s true that Wolverine did die. But if superhero films excel at something, it’s bringing back dead heroes. Plus, the Deadpool and Wolverine film could happen before the events of Logan. If Wolverine and Deadpool truly meet in a film, it’s possible their meeting will go somewhat like this. Deadpool can be annoying and Wolverine might try to kill him. Unfortunately for Wolverine, it’s not so easy to get rid of Deadpool. He’ll come back and will be free to pester Wolverine as long as he wants.
4 Wolverine’s Amazing Cameo
Ryan Reynolds has one thing going for him – persistence. Hugh Jackman could tell a lot of stories about it. Reynolds didn’t get his wish in Deadpool 2 (2018) but perhaps it could happen in the third movie, whenever it will arrive.
Even if Jackman doesn’t sign up for a major role, he could at least do a funny cameo. Just appear as Wolverine, punch Deadpool in the face, and walk away. It’s not as good as the other alternatives but still better than nothing.
3 Poor Wolverine
Wolverine might not feel that way but he and Deadpool are a great duo in the comics. Almost as good, if not better, like Deadpool and Spider-Man. Deadpool’s sense of humor often rubs Wolverine the wrong way, but that’s typical for Deadpool. There are very few people who can tolerate him for a long period of time. If Deadpool and Wolverine were forced to work together, it would no doubt be hilarious.
2 The King Of References
Everybody who’s in Hufflepuff and loves Wolverine can cheer – Wolverine’s there too! At least according to Deadpool. Unlike Wolverine, Deadpool often breaks the fourth wall and makes many pop culture references. Bringing Wolverine into Deadpool’s special brand of craziness would feel like a breath of fresh air. After all, there can only be a limited number of Wolverine films using the same storytelling style. Deadpool’s presence would definitely make things even more interesting.
1 The New Film’s Title
Finally, it’s time to consider what Deadpool’s and Wolverine’s film could be named like. One possible choice is dumb and dumber. Both Wolverine and Deadpool are smart but that doesn’t stop them from making bad decisions sometimes. One of these decisions could be trying to kill each other even though they’re as close to immortal as can come. The action scenes would be glorious, though, and it’s safe to assume the audience would enjoy them.
