Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Everything You Need To Know About Shamrock Day Items

Animal Crossing: New Horizons kept fans busy with the Mario update, which celebrated the Mario franchise’s 35th anniversary. In the past weeks, players were able to dress up as their favorite Super Mario character, create unique items inspired by the franchise, and even recreate some levels in the iconic series.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons still has some new content left this month, starting with Shamrock Day. As usual with content updates, Shamrock Day will bring new items, outfits, and DIY recipes that players can utilize to decorate their islands. For players interested to know what to expect in the recent update, here is everything you need to know about Shamrock Day and all the new items included with the limited-time expansion.

For the uninitiated, Shamrock Day was first introduced in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. The event is heavily inspired by the real-life Saint Patrick’s Day, so players should expect tons of items and outfits inspired by the celebration. In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, players will find Isabelle in front of the Town Tree during Shamrock Day. Upon speaking to her, she will explain the holiday and give them a Shamrock Hat.

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Shamrock Day is celebrated from March 10 to 17 on three separate occasions. The first leg of the event commences with a Nook Shopping seasonal event that will allow players to buy several Shamrock Day-inspired items. The second part of the festivities will be in the form of a seasonal event at the Able Sisters, where players can purchase several outfits and accessories unique to Shamrock Day. The final part of Shamrock Day will allow players to pop balloons that will contain a DIY recipe for a special Shamrock Wand.

In celebration of Shamrock Day, Animal Crossing: New Horizons will add unique items across three categories: furniture, clothes, and special items. During the event’s duration, players can purchase Shamrock Day-inspired furniture such as a doorplate and a rug. It is worth noting that Nook Shopping will only sell players one Shamrock item per day. Additionally, other seasonal items will also be added to Nook Shopping starting March 10, so players are encouraged to check out Nook Shopping every day.

Of course, Shamrock Day wouldn’t be complete without a unique outfit that players can don during the festivities. From March 10 onwards, players will be able to purchase a complete set of Shamrock-inspired clothing and accessories at The Able Sisters, including sunglasses, shoes, a full-piece suit, and the popular Shamrock Day hat inspired by the same piece from Animal Crossing: New Leaf. It is worth noting that these special outfits and accessories will only be available for a limited time, so players should purchase them now while they are still available.

Lastly, a couple of special items will also be available for Shamrock Day. The first one is a unique-looking beverage that could be purchased from Nook Shopping. It appears that this Shamrock Day beverage doesn’t really do anything, but it is still a cool-looking decoration that players can place on their homes or anywhere on the island. The other unique item is a DIY recipe for a Shamrock Wand that players can obtain by popping balloons. It is worth noting that players must have 3x Clump of Weeds and 3x Star Fragment to craft the Shamrock Day wand. The Shamrock Day wand works similarly to a regular wand allowing players to access saved outfits instantly.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now for the Nintendo Switch.
