While EA Play, EA’s own subscription service, is now included with Xbox Game Pass, adding a wealth of titles to Microsoft’s service, it was only available on the Xbox consoles, much to the disappointment of PC users. Thankfully, that’s not going to be a problem anymore as Microsoft has announced that EA Play is finally coming to Game Pass on PC and it’s happening tomorrow on March 18th at 2 pm PT.
Aside from getting access to more than 60 games from EA’s library, which includes the likes of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Titanfall 2, and Need for Speed Heat, PC users can receive special rewards every month for certain games. For example, this month is offering Gold Team Fantasy MUT Packs and an EA Play Celebration Pack for Madden 21, and a Mass Effect inspired N7 weapon charm for Apex Legends. There are also exclusive in-game challenges to complete and rewards to earn, as well as discounts on EA digital purchases. Basically, it’s a really good deal for anyone already subscribed to Game Pass.
Anyone who is interested will need to download the EA Desktop app and either sign-in with their EA account or create one if they haven’t already. Once logged in, they’ll then have to link their EA and Xbox accounts. The Xbox app will thankfully guide users through the process once they try to download their first EA Play game.
Recently, it seems like Game Pass is only becoming more and more lucrative for Microsoft and attractive to anyone who hasn’t already subscribed to it. With the acquisition of Bethesda finally complete, a bunch of its games are now available, including several Elder Scrolls games, a host of Doom titles, and both Dishonored games.
On top of that, there are some big additions coming to the service over the next couple of weeks. Hit indie RPG Undertale is already available, but the rest of the month will also bring Nier Automata (specifically for PC), Octopath Traveler (which was once a Nintendo Switch exclusive), and Yakuza 6: The Song of Life (the final entry in the Dragon of Dojima saga). And then on April 1st, Square Enix’s Outriders will be added, which is especially surprising as that’s also when it launches, arguably making the Xbox version the go-to version to play since Game Pass subscribers get it for no additional cost.
It hasn’t all been good news for EA as of late, though. Very recently, the publisher came under fire when it was believed that some of its own staff were selling FIFA 21 Ultimate Team card packs. EA is still investigating the issue but it has confirmed that one or more internal EA accounts had been engaging with illicit activity.
