The newest operator for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is no longer limited to the test server with Flores now being fully released. This attacking operator uses special drones that have the ability to detonate and damage gadgets, soft walls, and other players.
As with any new character in Rainbow Six Siege, some players may not know how to deal with Flores. This can be especially troublesome with the majority of games currently having at least one player choosing the new operator to feel him out for themselves. Luckily, Flores has multiple counters that make facing him much easier.
At this time, only players that have purchased the Crimson Heist Battle Pass can play as Flores with him being available through renown unlocks after the Battle Pass ends. This doesn’t mean that it will be rare finding him, as many have purchased the Battle Pass just to play as him as soon as possible.
Flores’ main gadget is known as the RCE Ratero Charge. He can deploy these explosive drones that can travel around the map for a limited amount of time before it explodes. This explosion can be triggered early manually by the player using Flores in order to damage what they want. While one of Flores’ drones is in its detonation phase it will stick to any surface it is touching and become bulletproof. This means that players can’t just get rid of one about to explode by shooting it.
These drones can come across as very intimidating, especially with the detonation timer being audible. This can cause it to possibly create panic in unfamiliar players. There are however operators that can greatly lessen the threat these drones cause.
The first hard counter for Flores is Mozzie. With his pests being able to take over any of the attacking teams’ drones, Flores’ drones are no exception. This also means that Mozzie players can use the stolen RCE Ratero Charges against the attacking operators along with their detonation.
Another hard counter for Flores is Mute. Like with any other electronic gadget, Mute’s signal jammer will prevent Flores’ drones from getting too close to key locations if placed wisely. With the drones being able to be shot when not in its detonation phase, players can shoot the drones after they are jammed.
Finally, Bandit is more of a soft counter for Flores and his drones. Bandit’s electric batteries can help block the drones from key locations as they will be automatically destroyed by touching the electricity.
Rainbow Six Siege is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
