Shadowlands: 10 Things You Missed In Revendreth | Game Rant

Every time a World of Warcraft expansion comes out new zones are introduced, usually stuffed to the gills with exciting new content for players to explore. In Shadowlands, there were five major zones introduced upon release – Bastion, Maldraxxus, Ardenweald, Revendreth, and The Maw – each home to their own unique secrets.

Revendreth is the last of the four planes of the afterlife the player is sent to after the Winter Queen asks the player to seek out Sire Denathrius. It’s a zone full of macabre aesthetics accented by classical gothic music, and a scenic place for players no matter their covenant to seek out some of the game’s most creepy secrets yet.

10 Carriages Can Knock Players (And Enemies) Prone

In Revendreth there are several carriages that constantly move from place to place. The player can hop on these carriages to quickly go from one place to another, but there’s a catch – it does not stop. The carriage will knock the player prone and deal slight damage if they get in front of it.

Interestingly, carriages can actually be used in the player’s favor. If the player finds themselves chased by too many mobs, they can lead the pack into the path of an oncoming Carriage. This stuns the mobs, shoots them back, and gives the player a little more time to get away.

9 Stonehead’s Death Letter Has A Secret Choice…

In the quest Signing Your Own Death Warrant, the player must forge a letter to gain access to the Ember Ward. The Ember Ward’s Keeper Stonehead is a bit brutish, but doesn’t think the player is a “bad guy” so he throws them back, asking for proof they’re a “bad guy”.

The player then finds paper, ink, and a place to write this letter. The myriad of things the player can say are hilarious in their own right (one option is to sign the letter from Stonehead) but players with the Inscription talent have the option to write a “perfect” letter. It doesn’t matter what the player writes in their letter, as Stonehead can’t read, but it’s a nice detail.

8 …But You Don’t Need The Letter To Pass

Funnily enough, the player can get into the Ember Ward through Stonehead without having to complete this quest at all. When the player approaches Stonehead, he picks them up and restricts their movement entirely until their conversation ends.

If the player logs out while being held by Stonehead, they will appear on the ground behind Stonehead upon log-in. It’s a glitch likely to be fixed in the future but still works as of patch 9.0.2.

7 “You Could Grate Cheese On Those Abs!”

Towards the end of the initial Revendreth storyline, the Mad Duke Theotar and Prince Renethal are reunited… and both happen to be shirtless. The Mad Duke takes the opportunity to comment on this happenstance, in a moment players might miss if they’re not paying attention to the dialogue.

The Mad Duke compliments Prince Renethal as they walk into Sinfall, commenting that “You could grate cheese on those abs!” It’s a hilarious moment that only adds to Theotar’s wackiness.

6 The Horrid Dredwing Mount

The Horrid Dredwing mount is a mount only unlockable for players in the Venthyr covenant. The mount is a rare drop from Harika the Horrid, herself a rare mob spawned near Wanecrypt Hill. It’s also purchasable through the covenant for a hefty sum, but this is the cheapest way to acquire it.

The player must use the Anima Conductor to channel anima to Wanecrypt Hill, then use the Dredterror Ballista to initiate the fight.

5 British Slang Is Everywhere, Especially Dredgers

Revendreth is a macabre black and red realm perfectly fit for the vampire-like Venthyr. It’s also the home of the dredgers, who all speak with unmistakable grubby London accents and use British gangster ways of speaking.

For instance, some dredgers offer their horse to the player to more quickly get from place to place. The dredgers who offer this service belong to the organization “Need A Nag?”, a possible reference to Only Fools and Horses and an old English phrase for a horse.

4 Death Was Merely A Setback For Kael’Thas Sunstrider

World of Warcraft has a lot of things to offer players of all kinds, so many players who don’t raid will miss out on the return of The Burning Crusade‘s poster-child, Kael’Thas Sunstrider. Sent to Revendreth to atone for sins in life, Kael’Thas was tortured by Denathrius with the intention to turn him into a weapon.

Players can find Kael’Thas Sunstrider in Castle Nathria, and work to free the former ruler of the Blood Elves from his unjustifiable bonds.

3 The Hopecrusher Gargon Mount

The Hopecrusher Gargon is another rare drop mount from a rare mob in Revendreth. Hopecrusher is located just east of the Charred Ramparts flight point and is a rare mob that should be approached with a group.

The Hopecrusher Gargon is a brutal-looking creature with gargoyle features and fearsome armor. It fits into the vibe of Revendreth perfectly, making it a must-have for anybody in the Venthyr covenant.

2 The Lost Quill Pet

The Lost Quill battle pet is located in the Forbidden Library in Revendreth. It’s not tied to the covenant and requires only a few steps to acquire. The player must go to the library and look for a clickable bottle of Forbidden Ink.

Then, the player must go to the walls above the library and find the Lost Quill NPC. Upon talking to the quill, it asks the player to find its ink. Make sure to grab it from the library and presto – you’ve got your very own living quill!

1 Blanchy Returns!

Blanchy was a beloved horse located in Westfall until her ultimate death at the hands of the Defias Brotherhood. Players around the world were shocked when Vanessa Vancleef killed Blanchy in the Cataclysm expansion, but now she’s back and scarier than ever.

In death, Blanchy became Sinrunner Blanchy, a rare mob galloping across Revendreth that can only be accessed through a specific set of actions taken over the course of a few days. The quest has a number of steps but ultimately results in ownership of this most fearsome and beloved creature of Azeroth.
