Little Nightmares: All Exclusive Masks & How To Get Them

In Little Nightmares, there are exclusive masks that Six can wear. They are optional items that do not impact the game in any way aside from granting Six some style points. While Six is seen wearing her iconic yellow raincoat throughout the game, these masks are worn over her head and face (concealing her identity even further).

All of the masks in Little Nightmares are earned by either being purchased separately or rewarded for unlocking a particular achievement. This feature evolved in Little Nightmares II where Mono can find and collect numerous different accessories (hats, not masks) throughout the game.

6 The Scarecrow Sack

“The Maw is filled with awful things hiding in the shadows and around every corner. Wear this twisted old Scarecrow Sack – it might not frighten away the monsters, but at least you won’t see them!”

The Scarecrow Sack is obtained by purchasing the Complete Edition of Little Nightmares. It unlocks immediately upon detection when launching the game for the first time. The Complete Edition contains the base game plus the DLC “Secrets of the Maw.”

A scarecrow is a human-shaped mannequin set up on a farm that is used to scare away birds (such as crows) from the crops. But in pop culture, and especially in the media, people are usually referring to the supervillain Scarecrow from DC Comics. He is known as the “Master of Fear” and is infamous for wearing a terrifying sack with holes cut out for the eyes and mouth over his head to resemble a real scarecrow.

5 The Upside-Down Teapot

“Six is a natural born explorer, but bad things can happen if she peeks a little too far in. By the looks of things, she might be wearing this Upside-down Teapot a little while longer!”

The Upside-down Teapot is obtained by buying the Complete Edition of Little Nightmares. When launching the game for the first time, it gets unlocked right away. The base game plus the DLC “Secrets of the Maw” is included in the Complete Edition.

Six must be fairly strong to be able to run and jump around with a glass teapot over her head. There is a tiny, little crack for her to be able to see too.

4 The Tengu Mask

“Fear can take many forms and can live in many worlds. Wearing this Japanese Tengu mask won’t keep Six safe from harm, but it will certainly make her fit in!”

The Tengu Mask was available as a separate purchase via the official website of Bandai Namco Entertainment, the publisher of the game. (Little Nightmares is developed by Tarsier Studios.) While the item is no longer for sale, a code for the item is available (for free) through Bandai Namco’s website.

Tengu are a type of legendary creature found in Japanese culture. They are considered supernatural beings and traditionally depicted with both human and birdlike characteristics. Today, tengu tend to be featured with long noses rather than beaks.

3 The Fox Mask

“With so many nooks & crannies to explore in this unpredictable place, it takes someone special to survive. Six is as brave and cunning a character as you will find, so this Fox mask couldn’t have found a better home!”

The Fox Mask used to be able to be bought separately on the official website of the game’s publisher, Bandai Namco Entertainment. (The Little Nightmares series is not developed by them, it is made by Tarsier Studios.) That being said, players can get their hands on a free code for the item through Bandai Namco’s website still.

In Western folklore, foxes are usually depicted as cunning. They also tend to be either a nuisance to others, a misunderstood hero, or a devious villain.

2 The Rascal Mask

There is no information available in Little Nightmares regarding the Rascal Mask, which is also known as the Geisha Mask.

If the player finds and breaks all the geisha dolls in the game, they will earn this mask. There are 10 to scattered throughout all the levels.

A geisha is quite literally defined as an artisan but well known as a Japanese hostess trained to entertain men with conversation, dance, and song. Six has no time for any of this entertainment though and proceeds to murder (and absorb) the Lady (also known as the Geisha or Governess) during the finale of Little Nightmares.

1 The Pakku Mask

“Yellow, cute, innocent… and very hungry!”

The Pakku Mask is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch version of Little Nightmares. It is unlockable by using the Pac-Man amiibo (the one for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U) on the title screen of the game.

Pac-Man is the protagonist of the video game franchise of the same name and possibly the most well-known classic arcade video game character of all time. He is also the official mascot of Bandai Namco.
