In an attempt to fix the game’s crashing issues, Ubisoft has disabled some items in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla that will make certain quests impossible to complete. While this may be an inconvenience for players, it solves a bug that is causing players to desynchronize when they go to Raventhorpe. This is only a temporary fix, so players should see things going back to normal in the upcoming days.
In general, players have not experienced many huge bugs in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla but there was a recent increase in the number of crashes happening around Raventhorpe. This is particularly problematic since Raventhorpe is one of the main locations in the game, and players have to return frequently to grab new missions and get rewards. These issues raised with Title Update 1.2.0, which included the Ostara Festival event.
In a recent tweet from the official Assassin’s Creed account, the crashing was addressed and a hotfix was announced. Ubisoft realizes the crashing was caused by items added for the seasonal Ostara festival, which is why they were removed for the time being. Unfortunately, this means players will have to wait to engage in the Ostara festivities. As part of the event, players can participate in archery, drinking, and brawling challenges much like last year’s Yule festivities. Additionally, the Ostara event comes with an egg hunt, a mission to make a crown, a decorating quest, and a bonfire-related activity available at night.
Since this is supposed to be only a momentary fix, Ostara-related items should be back soon. While Ubisoft has not confirmed a date for the permanent fix to be released, it seems like it will be available next week. Because of the crashing issues with the event’s items, it seems like fans will not be able to enjoy Ostara completely. The Ostara festivities started a couple of days ago on March 18 and the event is supposed to last until April 8. Hopefully, Ubisoft will extend the event once the new update is out and crashes are fixed.
With the upcoming Wrath of the Druids expansion around the corner, Ubisoft needs to keep an eye out for other bugs that may emerge. The expansion will be released on April 29 as part of Valhalla‘s post-launch support, which was planned even before the latest Assassin’s Creed was released last year. With the expansion, players will get to follow Eivor outside of Britain and into Ireland and Paris.
