Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is adding a highly requested feature that will let players compete in shows together as a team. Typically speaking, even if players queue up together, there may come a time when they have to turn against one another. After all, most of the finals can only have one winner, so if it comes down to the player and their friend, things can get hairy. The upcoming Squads Mode is looking to change that, though.
Historically, there were a lot of problems with trying to play Fall Guys with friends, especially if those friends were of different skill levels. The higher skilled players might qualify every round and reliably make it to the final while the lower skilled players struggle to reach round two or three in a given show. In Squads Mode, each squad will be ranked based on the placement of the team, and the top teams instead of the top players will proceed.
This means that players that haven’t had much experience with the final rounds may have a chance to see them if they have a skilled friend that can help them get there. Hopefully, this will help those players to get better at the game as they’ll be subject to a wider variety of round types and playing with others of a higher skill level.
Squads Mode is coming to Fall Guys Season 4, which just so happens to be right around the corner. The video above goes in depth with Squads Mode, so interested players should be sure to check it out. At the moment, it seems as though it will be a limited time mode, but if it goes well, MediaTonic would like to make it a permanent feature.
Fall Guys is available now on PC and PS4, and later on Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
