Following the success of Ty the Tasmanian Tiger HD, developer Krome Studios launched a successful Kickstarter project for Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue HD. Krome Studios recently debuted the remastered sequel’s Nintendo Switch launch trailer and is expected to launch in July 2021.
The trailer highlights the game’s zany characters and boomerang-slinging combat that fans enjoyed in Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue when it originally released in 2004. The sequel also features a non-linear open world and cart racing – two notable departures from the original Ty the Tasmanian Tiger.
Among the heaps of colorful 3D platformers released in the early 2000s, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger’s unique gameplay and charming Aussie cast helped earn itself a cult following. After releasing a remastered version of the game on PC in 2016, Krome Studios successfully funded a Kickstarter campaign to port Ty the Tasmanian Tiger HD to the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PS4 in 2020.
Fans hoping the Ty the Tasmanian Tiger franchise was on the verge of a full-fledged revival had their dreams come true as Krome Studios announced its latest Kickstarter for Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue HD. Remembered fondly as a high-point in the series, fans wasted no time at all in backing the project. Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue HD crushed its goal of $75,000 in less than 9 hours, ending the campaign with $216,108 pledged.
Krome Studios has implemented a number of graphical improvements and gameplay enhancements to bring Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue HD to life on modern consoles. Additionally, players can look forward to a new “Hardcore Mode,” additional in-game skins, and trophy/achievement support.
TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue HD is expected to arrive on PS4, Switch, and Xbox One before July 1.
