Over the course of the Naruto series, many fans have grown attached to a plethora of characters that appear in the franchise as well as spin-off movies and series. Of those, few are more beloved than Hinata Hyuga of the Leaf Village, and her accolades throughout the events of Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. Starting as a shy girl with little talent other than her genetic heritage of the Bakugan, Hinata grew exponentially over the years into one of the most valuable ninjas from Konoha.
As a valuable member of the Leaf Village, Hinata often gets paired up with other comrades on important missions to protect the interests of her village and save her friends from danger. Here is a compiled list of every team that includes Hinata Hyuga!
7 Bikochu Search Team
When Sasuke Uchiha left the Leaf Village, several missions were authorized by the Fifth Hokage, Lady Tsunade Senju in attempts to retrieve the genin from Orochimaru. One of these such attempts was propositioned by Shino Aburame to fetch a rare Bikochu beetle. The beetle was said to have an incredible tracking ability and could follow a scent anywhere. They came into contact with the rival clan of insect tamers, the Kamizuru clan.
Hinata attuned her Bakugan to be able to kill insects with pinpoint accuracy to save her friends from their opponents and ultimately was successful in attaining the rare beetle. However, the mission itself was considered a failure due to Naruto passing gas and the beetle picking up his scent instead of Sasuke’s, rendering the beetle useless.
6 Eight Man Squad
When Sasuke defeated Orochimaru and finally was free from his control, the Leaf Village saw another opportunity to retrieve the rogue ninja and return him to the village. This mission aimed to hunt down Itachi Uchiha, whom Sasuke was actively hunting and targeting in his next attack.
Tsunade hoped to both kill Itachi and capture Sasuke with a small, but an elite force of tracking and attack ninja specialized for the mission. Team 7 was sent due to not only their connection to Sasuke, but also due to their close and mid-range ability in battle, and Team 8 was added on because of their tracking ability to discover the location of the Akatsuki member.
5 Orochimaru Search Team
A team was dispatched from Konoha to find and uncover one of Orochimaru’s hidden bases. The original line-up consisted of Kakashi Hatake leading Team 8, but then included members of Team 7 and another genin that were available in the Leaf Village at the time.
This massive group split up into three smaller subgroups that would simultaneously attempt to uncover Orochimaru’s plot, take down Team Guren, and seal the Three-Tailed beast. Hinata was placed with the third subgroup, which was in charge of the sealing technique responsible for locking away the Three-Tails.
4 Hanabi Rescue Team
A team of highly specialized ninja from Konoha were dispatched by the Sixth Hokage, Kakashi Hatake, to rescue the Hyuga clan heiress, Hanabi Hyuga from Toneri Otsutsuki. The team was under the command of Shikamaru Nara and was also concerned with a subtle plot around the moon. The main goal was to bring back Hanabi safely, however, the other objectives of the mission were to stop the moon from falling from the sky and to uncover the meaning behind Toneri’s efforts.
3 Peddler Escort Team
A group of merchants requested safe travel and protection from Konoha, and the Fith Hokage sent out a genin squad consisting of Choji, Naruto, and Hinata to secure safe passage. What started as an uneventful journey quickly collapsed into madness as one of the merchants traveling was revealed to be a high-profile daimyo successor named Haruna.
The successor of the Land of Vegetables was being hunted by a group calling themselves the Janin, who had bribed the nobles in the village to stage a coup. In the end, the Team was able to stop the Janin, in the process of killing two of the rogue ninja.
2 Second Division
During the Fourth Great Ninja War, many of the shinobi from villages were grouped into divisions that best suited their abilities in battle. Hinata Hyuga along with another ninja from the Hidden Leaf Village like her cousin Neji Hyuga was sorted into the Second Division. The Second Division deals with close-range attacks and was the main regiment used to fight on the front-lines during battle. At first, the division intercepted the army of white Zetsu traveling underground to fight them head-on, retreating to surround the medical and logistical support division stations during the night.
Upon succeeding in their mission, the Second Division was ordered to head to the main battlefield and regroup with the other regiments to face the Ten-Tails, Madara Uchiha, and Obito Uchiha.
1 Team 8
After graduating from the academy, all genin were assigned to particular groups depending on their variable skills. Hinata Hyuga, Kiba Inuzuka, and Shino Aburame were assigned to Team Kurenai due to their ability in tracking and sensory. Kiba utilizes the ninken Akamaru as well as his own dog-like senses, Shino weaponizes the bug-style fighting of the Aburame clan, and Hinata with her Byakugan inherited from the Hyuga clan. Team 8 has relative success with the mission count, although after Kurenai becomes pregnant Kakashi often takes over as team leader on missions.
