Counter-Strike Map Recreated in Teardown | Game Rant

Players may remember the first time they planted a bomb in Counter-Strike‘s de_dust2. Now, Teardown will offer Counter-Strike fans a way to finally experience the mayhem that should have followed their efforts, as Teardown offers players a fully destructible sandbox.

Teardown is a single-player experience that puts users in the shoes of the owner of “Lockelle Teardown Services.” From there, the player is offered a variety of objectives and missions that tend to leverage the game’s ridiculously destructible environments. Due to its built-in level builder as well as compatibility with Steam workshop, Teardown is heavily moddable. Thus, Twitter user NooitAf recreated one of the most popular FPS maps ever made, de_dust2, and put it into Teardown.

The de_dust2 replica in Teardown allows players to take their frustrations out on the ever-popular Counter-Strike level. A myriad of different tools are available to would-be demolitionists including pipe bombs, guns, and a massive truck that can be driven right down the center of the map. This isn’t just the de_dust2 that players are familiar with either, as it includes a range of different locations that are inaccessible to Counter-Strike players including hidden rooms and other places that would only be reachable with console commands. YouTuber 3kliksphilip gives players an in-depth look at the map.

For curious players, installing the map is as easy as heading to the Steam workshop. While the level doesn’t add any missions or objectives for the player to complete, it is still an interesting distraction from the main storyline heists in Teardown.

Teardown is available now on PC as a Steam Early Access game.
