Spring has just begun in the Northern Hemisphere, and gaming platforms will do what they can to make sure players buy more games when they aren’t doing their spring cleaning. GOG has announced the start of its Spring Sale with plenty of discounts and deals.
For the unaware, GOG is a digital distributor of games created by Polish company CD Projekt of The Witcher fame and Cyberpunk 2077 infamy. Unlike other storefronts like Steam, GOG is committed to selling games free of digital rights management, or DRM. The distribution platform has a “you buy it, you own it” philosophy, and regularly hosts sales on everything from CD Projekt’s own Witcher series to newly released titles.
Leading the GOG Spring Sale is Avalanche Studios’ Mad Max, arriving on the platform for $4.99, a 75% discount. The sale announcement also highlights two indie games; Raji: An Ancient Epic from Nodding Heads Games is 50% off, and Travellers Rest from Isolated Games is 20% off. The entire Spring Sale puts over 3,000 games on sale, from Batman: Arkham Knight Premium Edition (75% off) to The Outer Worlds (50% off) to Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition (60% off).
GOG has also prepared some game collections to help players to navigate through the Spring Sale. These include lists like the “RPG Collection,” which features games like Baldur’s Gate II, and “Deepest Discounts,” which has games like XCOM 2 that are discounted over 90%. Plus, GOG curated the “Soon to Bloom” collection, which features over 20 demo versions for upcoming games. There are numerous great indie games coming out in 2021, and these demos will be great for gamers looking for new indie titles to try, and maybe even add to their wishlists.
Of course, no GOG sale would be complete without discounts for CD Projekt Red’s own games. Players can find Witcher titles discounted up to 85%, and the developer’s newest title Cyberpunk 2077 is available for 20% off. Gamers have two weeks to explore all discounts the sale has to offer, as the GOG Spring Sale runs until April 5 at 6 AM PST.
