Monster Hunter World Iceborne: How to Get Astral Melding Tickets

Decorations are a key part of creating a build that suits a particular playstyle in any Monster Hunter game. However, with Monster Hunter World‘s change to the decoration system, it can be difficult for players to get the decorations that they need. One way to get rare decorations is to obtain an Astral Melding Ticket. It’s not the easiest feat in the game, and players will need to be in the late game of the Iceborne expansion to get them, but they will always result in level 4 decorations when used.

Getting an Astral Melding Ticket is simple on paper. These tickets can only be obtained through one event quest called “Mew Are Number One!” This is an event quest that will require hunters to be at Master Rank 100 to undertake, so players will have to be at the endgame of Iceborne in order to accept this quest. Thus, these tickets are more for helping players to shore up their defenses and builds for late game monsters like Alatreon and Fatalis.

The quest itself will require players to head to the standard arena and fight a tempered Furious Rajang. For players in the endgame who have may already taken on some late game monsters, this may not seem like a particularly difficult feat. However, the fact that players are allowed 5 faints instead of the usual 3, should tip players off that the fight will, in fact, be quite difficult.

Strategies used for the standard Furious Rajang are still viable, the version in Mew Are Number One! simply hits a lot harder and has more health. One aforementioned strategy includes aiming for the head to knock it out of rampage mode. With standard Rajang, the tail is the target to accomplish this, but Furious Rajang has no tail and so players will need to focus on the head however, be aware that the front of Furious Rajang can be a dangerous place to be. Additionally, like standard Rajang, Furious Rajang is weakest to ice, so if a weapon with high elemental damage output, like the bow or the dual blades, is being used, an ice version of that weapon will be most effective. Also keep in mind that Furious Rajang will destroy shock traps, so if players plan to trap it, they will need pitfall traps. This also means though, that despite Tempered Furious Rajang’s difficulty, it can be captured if timed correctly.

Once Mew Are Number One! has been completed, there is a 63% chance of being rewarded with an Astral Melding Ticket. There is also a 100% of getting a Great Spiritvein Gem (with a 1% chance of getting another) and a 36% chance of getting a Sealed Feystone, for an additional decoration reward.

Once the Astral Melding Ticket has been acquired, it will need to be taken to an Elder Melder back in a hub. From there, it can be turned into a Level 4 decoration. It is worth noting that while the decoration will always be Level 4, not all Level 4 decorations can be obtained from an Astral Melding Ticket, for example, a Level 4 Attack decoration is not in the pool of available results from using an Astral Melding Ticket.
