Yakuza 6: The Song of Life PC System Requirements Revealed

Fans of the long-running Yakuza series have eagerly awaited the day when the entire game series would be available on PC. That day is rapidly approaching with the PC release of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, and now players can find out what their computers will need in order to be able to play the game.

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life is the final game from the series to make its way to the PC, despite the fact that series sequel Yakuza: Like a Dragon has already been available on the system for several months. With its release, the only Yakuza games remaining to come to PC are the series spin-offs, like Yakuza: Dead Souls, and Judgment.

The absolute minimum PC system requirements for Yakuza 6 call for Windows 10, 4GB of RAM, a GPU equivalent to a Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 or AMD Radeon HD 7870 with at least 2 GB of VRAM, and an Intel Core 85-3470, AMD FX-6300, or equivalent processor. Considering the game originally launched back in 2018, it has very reasonable requirements that many gamers’ PCs will be able to handle.

To make the most out of the experience, though, players will need slightly better hardware. Sega recommends Windows 10, 6 GB of RAM, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 with 8 GB of VRAM, and an Intel Core i7-6700 or an AMD Ryzen 5 2600 or equivalent processor. Those who meet or surpass these recommended specs can expect to enjoy the game in high quality in 1080p, whereas the minimum requirements still allow for 1080p, but at a lower visual quality.

The order of the Yakuza franchise can be a bit confusing at times for newcomers, and the long overdue release of Yakuza 6 for PC is no exception. Yakuza 6 was the first game to feature the developer’s (then) new Dragon Engine, which has since been featured in Yakuza Kiwami 2, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and spin-off title Judgment, though there are currently no plans to bring Judgment to PC. As such, many PC users and fans of the series have likely already enjoyed at least one of the games featuring the Dragon Engine, and can likely expect that their computers will handle Yakuza 6 just fine if they don’t feel like looking up their system specifications.

While it took a while to get there with the out-of-order release of the series for PC, those who are limited to or prefer the system for gaming will soon be able to enjoy series protagonist Kiryu Kazuma‘s story from start to finish.

Yakuza 6: Song of Life will release on PC and Xbox consoles on March 25. It is also currently available on PS4.
