The second week of Fortnite Season 6 is underway, and with it comes a new set of challenges for players to complete. One of these challenges tasks players with finding literature samples from various locations around the island.
Epic Games’ popular free-to-play battle royale officially launched its sixth season last week. Fortnite‘s new “Primal” themed season introduces several new elements to the game’s meta, including animals, new POIs, and a weapon crafting system. Players now have the option to craft primal weapons which trade accuracy for increased firepower, although this challenge doesn’t require any sort of confrontation.
Fortnite players will need to track down a total of four literature samples, which exist in three different locations: Lazy Lake, Pleasant Park, and Retail Row. There are five literature samples in all, with Retail Row having only one known spot. Here’s a quick rundown of where the samples are precisely located.
- Lazy Lake: The first sample can be found in the southwest corner at Lazy Lake Spa, essentially the opposite corner of last week’s Lazy Lake anomaly challenge. Head down to the subterranean parking garage, and players will find a magazine rack under a Lazy Lake Spa sign, next to the bottom of a staircase. For the second sample, head northwest from the spa to the two-story gas station. On the ground floor, the next sample will be up against the wall opposite a soda fountain machine.
- Pleasant Park: Another literature sample is located in the light blue house along the western edge of Pleasant Park. Go through the front door, and turn immediately left to find a bookshelf. Players can grab the second sample in this area from the brick house in the northwest corner. Enter the front door as well, and can find the sample in the room on the left at the bottom of the stairs.
- Retail Row: The fifth and (known) final literature sample location is in the easternmost building of Retail Row. Facing the building’s front, players will want to make their way into McGullin’s bookstore, located towards the right side. The last sample can be found towards the back of the business.
It should be reiterated that only four samples are required to complete the challenge, so players may want to skip Retail Row altogether unless they’ve figured out how to travel quickly enough. Fortnite players who complete this challenge will be rewarded with 24,000 XP.
This challenge is a fairly easy one and is a bit more straightforward than last week’s somewhat confusing anomaly challenges. While Fortnite offering fresh challenges is nothing new, it isn’t the only thing the battle royale is up to. Fortnite will be hosting a Kaskade concert in Party Royale as part of its latest Llama-Rama crossover event with Rocket League, so even those who don’t have the Battle Pass challenges can enjoy some extra content.
Fortnite is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
