March is nearly over and, although the full April calendar for Pokemon GO hasn’t been revealed yet, players can already start planning ahead for the fourth Community Day of the year. The latest intel drop from Niantic reveals the date and many of the details for next month’s Community Day event.
For the first time in Pokemon GO, Community Day will put an Unova-region Pokemon into the spotlight. This marks the beginning of a new era and opens up some exciting follow up events that may appear during the rest of the year. Shivy takes the stage on April 11 and trainers will be able to spend most of the afternoon chasing down increased spawns and trying to collect Shiny Snivy to add to their collections.
The upcoming April event will bring six full hours of Snivy spawns to the mobile app for trainers to enjoy. Players will have plenty of time to complete the day’s challenges and hopefully pick up a number of shiny Pokemon to add to their collection or save for some high value trading after the event comes to a close.
Like most starter Pokemon, Snivy is pretty popular and is likely to help the event draw a pretty large crowd. Even if players aren’t necessarily interested in its final evolution for the PoGO meta game, the collectible aspect of catching some new Shiny Snivy spawns will likely be more than enough motivation to get players logged in and active when the weekend of April 11 rolls around.
In addition to the motivation to catch Snivy, players will likely also be logging on to take advantage of the 3x Stardust bonus that will be active throughout the event. Stardust is likely the most valuable resource in the game, though Mega Resources are giving it a run for its money, and trainers can never have too much of the stuff. The event should get lots of players to login, burn some Star Pieces, and take full advantage of this opportunity to restock on the previous resource while they have the chance.
Over the next week or so players should continue to learn a lot more about what other events are on the way throughout the Season of Legends. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
Pokemon GO is available on Android and iOS.
