Call of Duty: Warzone Fan Proves That Console FOV Is Possible Using Common Perk

One known advantage for playing Call of Duty: Warzone on PC is access to the game’s Field of View, or FOV, controls. Consoles come with a preset FOV setting that can not be adjusted, and generally speaking, it is more restrictive than PC audiences. Although the developers claim that Call of Duty: Warzone FOV sliders on console are not possible, one fan has an argument to counter their belief.

The issue with FOV sliders comes into play regarding screen resolutions and system graphical capabilities. A Call of Duty field of view is preset with the gun prominent, but the depth can be adjusted to give a wider range of peripheral vision. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was able to offer the setting to players, which makes many fans wonder why Call of Duty: Warzone can’t.

In a video posted to Reddit by user MonstratTTV, the player makes a rather compelling argument for FOV adjustment on consoles. Using their Xbox Series S, the Call of Duty: Warzone player uses an in-game item called Dead Silence to demonstrate their point. Before the item is used, the player has a fairly standard FOV presentation, but once activated, the depth widens, and more of the surrounding area can easily be seen. Although this is only present during the duration of the item, it does make a rather powerful point of what the engine is capable of offering players.

Many players are still waiting for the Call of Duty: Warzone next-gen update on the PlayStation 5. The development team planned to release it quickly, but the delays have started to irritate the dedicated game community. Call of Duty: Warzone’s FOV standard has caused many players to feel that PC fans have an unfair advantage within the game.

By having a wider range of vision, Call of Duty: Warzone players have less of a chance to spot enemies. This means that console fans must be constantly on guard or risk being flanked due to a FOV difference. Call of Duty: Warzone offers more customizable features on PC that many console fans wish they could access.

There is an ongoing debate about equally distributed content in almost any cross-platform title. From Call of Duty PlayStation exclusive content to PC-only features, many fans are seeing a continued divide among platforms despite the promise for balanced cross-play functionality. The FOV slider is only of many Call of Duty: Warzone features that continue to be debated by the game’s dedicated community.
