Other than the game will center around its titular character, Gollum, there aren’t many additional details about it in the wild, but that should change tomorrow.

With not much by way of official news, members of the gaming community have only had speculation to go off of for quite some time now. However, it seems that the development studio will be releasing something more comprehensive for fans to consider sooner than previously expected.

There have certainly been quite a number of Lord of the Rings games released in the past. Though, playing as Gollum, a prominent character in the series, but one that has largely played only a supporting role in the games, could lead to quite a unique experience. One that Lord of the Rings fans may not have expected to have.

For several years, games like Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Middle-earth: Shadow of War have served as the more popular video game adaptations based on The Lord of the Rings. Those games feature playable swordsmen with a variety of different weapons and abilities at their disposal, which means that Lord of the Rings: Gollum will serve as a major departure from that kind of format.
