New Xbox Series X Electric Volt and Daystrike Camo Controller Colors Revealed

When Microsoft first launched the Xbox Series X, it did so with three controller color choices for fans to choose from. There was the black Xbox Series X controller bundled with the Series X controller, as well as the white version of the controller that’s bundled with the Series S console. Microsoft also released a blue Xbox Series X controller that fans could purchase separately. And now two more Xbox Series X controller colors have been revealed.

Microsoft has officially announced the Electric Volt and Daystrike Camo Xbox Series X controllers, joining the previously revealed Shock Blue and Pulse Red controllers. The Xbox Series X Electric Volt controller uses “yellow resin” to create a color that hasn’t been used for Xbox hardware in the past. It comes with all the bells and whistles as any other Xbox Series X controller and will be available to purchase for $64.99 starting April 27.

The Daystrike Camo Xbox Series X controller will be a touch more expensive than the Electric Volt, launching on May 4 for $69.99. The reason for the uptick in price is because this particular controller is being sold as a Special Edition, and the third release in Microsoft’s Camo series of controllers (preceded by the Night Ops Camo and Arctic Camo controllers on Xbox One). This will be the first Camo controller released for next-generation Xbox consoles.

What’s notable about these new Xbox Series X controllers is that they will be the first using recycled resins. According to Microsoft, the controllers contain “a portion of resins” made from recycled automotive headlight covers, plastic water jugs, and CDs. Despite this, Microsoft is confident that these Xbox Series X controllers will be just as durable as any of the other controllers it’s sold over the years.

Anyone interested in purchasing either one of the controllers should know that they are not just compatible with Xbox Series X and S consoles. On the contrary, the new Xbox Series X controllers work fine with Xbox One consoles as well, plus they can be used on Windows 10 PCs and mobile devices. Someone looking to take advantage of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate’s cloud gaming may very well want to consider picking one up.

If Microsoft’s past hardware releases are any indication, it’s highly likely that there will be many more Xbox Series X controllers released over the console’s lifespan. Fans may even be able to look forward to specially-themed Xbox Series X consoles as well.
