Xbox Game Pass consistently filters games in and out of its library, though its offerings have steadily expanded as time presses on. That’s helped, in large part, by additions to Xbox’s first-party lineup, such as the recent acquisition of Bethesda games that added 20 new titles to the roster. Today, however, the service is expanding even further, as five new games are being added to Xbox Game Pass.
First on the list is Genesis Noir, an adventure game that spans time and space. It’s an interesting concept, as players will view a “gunshot fired by a jealous god” among other unique narrative elements. The game is available on both console and PC versions of Game Pass, so fans do have options as to where they want to pick it up.
One of the most notable games headed to the service is Octopath Traveler, a Square Enix game originally released on Switch back in 2018. It boasts a unique art style and eight playable protagonists, and was generally praised back when it launched. Just like Genesis Noir, the game will be available on both PC and console versions of Game Pass.
Additionally, Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire is also being added to the service. While the game has been available on the console library of Xbox Game Pass for a while, PC players will be able to pick it up for the first time today through the service. The game is a continuation of the events of the first game, and it’s one of Obisidian’s most notable projects outside of the developer’s work on The Outer Worlds.
The final two games rounding out the list are Supraland, which is coming to PC, and Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, which is being added to console, PC, and the cloud streaming options. Supraland is pitched as an action-adventure platformer, with players exploring an interconnected world. Meanwhile, Yakuza 6 is one of the more recent entries in the series, having released in 2016. It’s a good game to check out for those that have been interested in the franchise.
Of course, more games are slated to come to the service soon, these are just the ones landing today. The most notable upcoming Game Pass game is Outriders, which is joining the service on its launch day, April 1. It’s a big addition to the service, and an indication that more triple-a titles could be heading to the subscription beyond Xbox’s first-party offerings.
Xbox Game Pass is available for Cloud, PC, and Xbox consoles.
