Yakuza 6: The Song of Life is an action-adventure video game that originally debuted on the PS4 in Japan in December 2016. In March 2018, it was released in Engish in Southeast Asia; in April 2018, it dropped worldwide. A couple of years later, in March 2021, the game came out on PC and Xbox One. The game, developed and published by Sega, is the seventh main entry in the Yakuza series.

The game features a system where the player levels up and earns points in five differently-colored types of experience: Red (Strength), Blue (Agility), Yellow (Spirit), Green (Technique), and Purple (Charm). These points can be used to improve their base stats or to learn new skills. In particular, Battle Skills are abilities and techniques used on the battlefield and during fights.

10 The Combo Speed Battle Skills

There are three Battle Skills regarding Combo Speed the player should get to dish out attacks faster.

Boost Comb Speed Lv. 1 costs 60 Red, 50 Blue, 60 Green, and 50 Purple. It increases attack speed slightly. Boost Comb Speed Lv. 2 costs 300 Red, 250 Blue, 300 Green, and 250 Purple. It further increases attack speed. Boost Comb Speed Ultimate costs 900 Red, 750 Blue, 900 Green, and 750 Purple. It maximizes attack speed.

9 The Quick Recovery Battle Skills

The Quick Recovery Battle Skill will allow the player to get up faster after being pushed to the floor.

It costs 40 Red, 60 Blue, 60 Yellow, 40 Green, and 50 Purple. By pressing a button after being knocked down, the player will quickly recover and stand right back up. Moreover, Rising Tornado, which costs 20 Red, 30 Blue, 10 Yellow, 90 Green, and 60 Purple, allows them to press a button and strike an enemy while getting up.

8 The Quickstep Battle Skills

There are three Battle Skills regarding Quickstep the player should get to improve their evasiveness and dodging ability during combat.

Double Quickstep requires 110 Evasion or more and costs 320 Blue, 120 Green, and 60 Purple. It allows the player to quickstep twice in succession. Triple Quickstep requires 200 Evasion or more and costs nothing. It allows the player to quickstep thrice in succession. Quickstep Cancel requires 160 Evasion or more and costs 300 Blue and 520 Green. It allows the player to cancel certain actions.

7 The Charge Attack Battle Skill

The Charge Attack Battle Skill allows the player to perform a roundhouse kick to an enemy that deals massive damage and knocks them over. It hits multiple opponents too.

Charge Attack costs 80 Red. That’s all. It is used by pressing a button during a Rush Combo.

6 The Collateral Damage Battle Skill

The good thing about the Collateral Damage Battle Skill is it makes encounters with many opponents easier to handle.

Collateral Damage costs 120 Red and 100 Purple. For each enemy struck during an attack, the damage will be increased. So, more bad guys hit means more damage done.

5 The Relentless Blows Battle Skill

While in combat, enemies tend to block often. The Relentless Blows Battle Skill allows the player to attack faster after an opponent blocks their attack.

Relentless Blows requires 150 Attack or more and costs 25 Blue, 60 Green, and 25 Purple. When unlocked, the player can break through the bad guys’ defense and be stronger for doing so.

4 The Parry Battle Skills

The exact definition of parrying is warding off a weapon or attack with a countermove. If the player finds themselves getting nailed often during combat, they should grab the Parry Battle Skills. This way, the player is not only blocking incoming attacks but giving it right back to the enemies.

Parry costs 80 Blue, 80 Green, and 80 Purple. By pressing a button right before getting hit, they will parry it. Parry Mastery costs 400 Blue, 400 Green, and 400 Purple. It increases the window for successfully parrying attacks.

3 The Lunge Battle Skills

If the player finds they are moving around too slowly, they should pick up the Lunge Battle Skill.

Lunge costs 15 Blue and 10 Green. It allows the player to take a huge leap after quickstepping while running. Moreover, Leaping Fist, which costs 50 Red, 60 Blue, and 50 Green, will allow them to punch an enemy in the face after lunging by pressing a button.

2 The Tiger Drop Battle Skills

The Tiger Drop Battle Skill is a powerful technique. Whoever uses it delivers a punch to the gut during the enemy’s attack. Tiger Drop deals big damage and knocks back opponents.

It requires 180 Attack or more and costs 480 Red, 450 Blue, 20 Yellow, 490 Green, and 240 Purple. By holding one button and pressing another as an enemy attacks, the player will execute the Tiger Drop. Moreover, Tiger Drop Master, which costs 960 Red, 900 Blue, 40 Yellow, 980 Green, and 480 Purple, makes this Battle Skill even better.

1 The Stun Resistance Battle Skill

If the player finds they handling fights from a defensive perspective as opposed to an offensive one, they should get the Stun Resistance Battle Skill. Sometimes the player gets stunned by enemies, making them temporarily unable to fight back or even more. So, why not.

Stun Resistance requires 120 Defense or more and costs 240 Yellow and 40 Purple. By mashing a button after getting stunned, the player will recover quickly and become free to react.
