Outriders has just launched a giveaway sweepstakes to help promote the release of the upcoming looter-shooter and give gamers the chance to get some custom hardware. Although the game will release on April 1 for several different consoles, Xbox players are in luck, as Outriders is coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one. But now Xbox players will have even more to look forward to. Outriders has partnered with custom hardware creator POPE to create some unique Xbox Series X controllers that will only be obtainable through a giveaway contest during a limited timeframe.
This is the first custom hardware promotion for Outriders, and its inspiration comes directly from the game. When starting the Outriders demo, players must play through a series of short tutorial missions before everything goes haywire and players finally get to select their class. The Devastator, Pyromancer, Technomancer, and Trickster classes all have unique abilities that allow them to approach combat in different ways, though so far the Trickster is the most popular. Each class also has a particular color-scheme associated with it, and that’s what players can expect to see in the design of the custom controllers.
The custom Xbox Series X controller giveaway will last until April 9, and players can enter for a chance to win through a couple different avenues. Following the Outriders Twitter account will automatically enter players into the contest, but if someone is already a follower, they can simply retweet the promotion instead. Winners will be selected through a random drawing and notified through Twitter, and there will be six winners in total. The first winner selected will have a choice between all available controllers, and each winner thereafter will be able to pick from what remains.
Each controller will feature a specific color scheme and design, with the Outriders logo on the left hand side. The Technomancer’s controller has green accents with a skull logo in the middle, the Pyromancer’s is red with a flaming hand, the Trickster’s is blue with a sword, and the Devastator’s is orange with a shield. There are also two other controllers with a combo of colors that include all of the Outriders class symbols. Outriders is also running a separate controller sweepstakes on its official Discord server that will last six weeks. To enter this contest, players must join the Outriders Discord server, find the #controller channel, and respond with a specific reaction icon.
These two combined sweepstakes will put custom controllers in hands of several Outriders fans as players get acquainted with the full release. Developer People Can Fly has already detailed changes from the demo to expect in the full game, and more updates including load time improvements and controller adjustment options will come after launch day.
Outriders is set to release April 1, for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
