Monster Hunter Rise: Where to Get Iron Ore | Game Rant

Although players will spend most of their time hunting large monsters, Monster Hunter Rise places a heavy emphasis on mining ores as well. Especially early on, Iron Ore will be one of the most important materials for players to collect. It can be used as upgrade material for many of the early weapons and there are even weapons and armor that can be crafted purely from Iron Ore that are decently powerful in the early game. Unfortunately, players don’t get much direction in terms of where to find Iron Ore, so hopefully this helps players to collect as much as they need.

As a relatively low level resource, players will find Iron Ore in the first area of Monster Hunter Rise, the Shrine Ruins. Even early on, players should be relatively familiar with this area since all of the beginning quests take place here, and hopefully they have a bit of experience using the wire bug as well.

All total, there are six iron ore outcrops to be found in this area, each with a distinctive blue tint. To farm these most efficiently, players should start at the southernmost area where base camp is. Behind the tent, players will find a Great Wirebug that can shoot them up the mountain. Climb to the top of this mountain to find the first iron ore node. From here, head to area 1 and climb the cliff behind and to the left of the large stone arch to find the second Iron Ore node.

Iron Ore node three requires a bit more acrobatics and precise use of Wirebugs. Head to area five and find a ledge with a Great Wirebug on top of it. Use this Great Wirebug and there will be another that can be used while the player is in the air, and then head left to find the third Iron Ore node. The fourth Iron Ore node can be found in area six atop a waterfall, and the fifth Iron Ore node is on the south side of area 12. Finally, on the south side of area 11, players will find the sixth and final Iron Ore node in this area. Riding a Palamute can make traversing these areas easier.

Doing this run once or twice should produce more than enough Iron Ore to upgrade a weapon or forge a few pieces of armor. If players ever get low on ore it is easy enough to come back and mine these six nodes. This can be done during a standard expedition or an actual quest. For those that prefer a visual guide, check out the video above from Gamers Heroes. The next type of ore players will need to find is Monster Hunter Rise‘s Machalite Ore.

Monster Hunter Rise is available now on Nintendo Switch.
