Dragon’s Blood is produced by Studio Mir. This is the production house that has given fans masterpieces like The Legend of Korra and The Boondocks. It is thus only fair that much like these shows, Dragon’s Blood is lined full and deep with small details and easter eggs.  Luckily, fans have not left any margin in finding out these hidden tidbits.

Warning: There will be heavy spoilers as this list dives into the anime’s details.

10 Uldorak the Time Dragon

Nearing the climax of the 1st episode, Terrorblade takes over the body of a local and manages to kill an old, ailing Eldwurm. The anime only provides the eldwurm’s name, Uldorak. Interestingly, Uldorak’s name is already mentioned in the game itself. The Dragon Knight of DotA 2 himself has a cosmetic set named ‘Uldorak’s Hide Set’. Though the lore attached to this set is very much different than that of the anime. In the game, a queen hired Davion to launch a surprise attack on the Eldwurm of Time to put an end to the greedy dragon’s endless demands. Davion killed Uldorak using his cunning and later got an armor set made from its hide.

9 It’s a small world after all

Throughout the second episode, Mirana and Marci travel through the town of Haupstadt. As they are looking around the town and during Davion’s fight with the gang at the end of the episode, fans can see many people that share a race with many of the DotA 2 heroes. This includes an ogre much like the one Alchemist commands. Additionally, 2 people who closely resemble Bounty Hunter and Elder Titan are part of the gang members that fight DavionNikdo, the black market boss also has an Oglodi bodyguard, which is the race of both Axe and Disruptor.

8 Ohho! You found me!

The Radiant Shopkeeper is an all-time favorite NPC of DotA fans due to multiple reasons. He originally presented the DotA 2 Gamescom trailer in 2011. His cheery personality and voice-lines are fan-favorites. And now he is a major catalyst in the storyline of Dragon’s Blood. Moreover, his cameo also gave fans a look at the many items his store offers. Fans spotted Clarities, Healing Salves, a Morbid Mask, and an Urn of Shadows among the many items cluttered around the shop. Not to forget that he literally gives Mirana a Gem of True Sight. Needless to say, that minute of the anime is a treat to any DotA player’s eyes.

7 Crimson Wyvern Resource Extraction

In episode 3, Kaden OTKs a dragon solo like the absolute badass he is. In episode 4, he reveals that it was an adult crimson. This is a direct reference to another one of the Dragon Knight’s in-game cosmetic sets. The name of the set is called ‘Enchanted Plate of the Crimson Wyvern Set’. Interestingly, the set’s in-game description states that the wyvern was not killed by Davion. Its scales were used to craft the armor, which Davion happened to pick up. This coincides with the anime lore, possibly implying that Davion might get an armor inspired by the in-game set in future seasons.

6 Could Kaden become the Chaos Knight?

In the epic battle between Davion and Kedan, viewers saw the use of many of the different dragon’s parts in battle. Among these was a chest plate that is made from a Chaos Dragon’s remains. Interestingly, Kedan used this item to phase in and out to dodge Davion’s attacks. This behavior is very similar to what DotA’s Chaos Knight can do. Fans are hypothesizing an epic battle between Dragon-form Davion and Kedan, where Kedan ends up merging with his armor to become Chaos Knight

5 Knight of the Burning Scale

Speaking of sets from the game, the Invoker is nice enough to provide Davion with enchanted armor. This armor can transform with him every time he transforms into a dragon. Fans have noticed that this set is in fact heavily inspired by the ‘Knight of the Burning Scale’ set. This begs the question of what sets the other heroes in the anime will be given in future seasons. Regardless, fans are excited.

4 Never ask a wyvern why

The spotlight of Davion’s meeting with the Eldwurm Council was taken by the Ionic and the Chaos Eldwurm. But this doesn’t mean there weren’t any other Eldwurms worth noting. Fans were quick to notice the oldest of the Eldwurms in her frosty glory. The Icy Eldwurm  Auroth, the Winter Wyvern is one of DotA’s playable heroes.

She is also the mentor to the Crystal Maiden. She is supposedly the only Eldwurm to not be part of The ThunderThe Thunder is the collective of the world’s 8 fundamental forces.

3 The Elven Rebellion was never just a story

The myth of the Lotuses of Mene bringing back goddess Mene is the basis for the plot of Season 1. But most people in the anime seem to consider it as nothing more than a children’s story. Yet in the last episode, Luna calls it ‘The Oracle’s Prophesy’. Long-time fans know that The Oracle is an almighty being capable of seeing all possible futures at any given moment. This implies that Mene might actually return in the future, as prophecized.

2 Terrorblade rework soon?

The battle between Terrorblade and Selemene makes all the others in the series pale in comparison. Seeing both the fighters use abilities that players themselves use in the game acts as the cherry on top. Yet the only thing that is off about the situation is Terrorblade’s mind-controlling. As a DotA hero, Terrorblade has had a variety of abilities from Soul Steal to summoning demon golems throughout his life.

But in all these years, he has never had an ability even close to mind-control. As the hero hasn’t gotten much change in quite some time, fans are prophecizing a Terrorblade rework in the already announced upcoming patch.

1 The Radiant Rock

Getting a sneak-peek of the Dire Rock has served the purpose of cementing Dragon Blood’s place in the DotA timeline. Yet very few of the fans have realized that Studio Mir possibly gave us a look at the Radiant Rock. Or rather, the early effects of the Radiant Rock. All the way in the first episode, Davion finds a nest full of dead wurmlings. No reason is given as to why the wurmlings went mad and started killing each other. While Terrorblade seems to be a fine excuse, a better explanation is that the Radiant Rock has made its way into Uldarok‘s hole. Its effects maddened both the hatchlings and the juvenile wurm.
