Dungeons and Dragons Charity Game To Be Held at Real Castle

A new Dungeons and Dragons event hosted by the charitable organization Comic Relief will be taking a select few players into a custom adventure inside of a real-life castle. Fans can donate now for a chance to be selected for the event and experience an all-new version of Dungeons and Dragons if they win the grand prize.

The organization behind this raffle, Comic Relief, is best known for the Red Nose Day event and donates its proceeds to both causes in the UK, where the group originates from, as well as around the world. However, Comic Relief has run similar fundraisers to this current Dungeons and Dragons themed event before, as there are often donation drives happening throughout the year.

This event promises to take one lucky winner, and up to four guests, to the historic Warwick Castle in Warwick, England, for a two-day Dungeons and Dragons experience. There, professional Dungeon Master Mark Hulmes will lead the winner on an in-game adventure, as well as engage in other themed activities such as archery training and the Gauntlet of Challenge. Other Dungeons and Dragons themed merchandise and accommodations at a Knights Village Woodland Lodge will also be available to whoever wins the raffle. Additional entertainment on the trip also include a jousting lesson and a falconer display, so it won’t be a full day of playing the game.

For any fans looking to jump at the chance to play a whole new kind of Dungeons and Dragons campaign, Comic Relief’s raffle will be going until April 4th. There, anyone interested can donate different amounts with each donation of £10 granting one entry in the raffle, with no limit on how many entries anyone can make. This would be around $14 for the US, but the raffle is unfortunately only available for UK residents, so international parties won’t be able to enter for this event.

The chance to play out a Dungeons and Dragons adventure in a real castle sounds like the type of thing friends would joke about doing “one day” as they hang out around the table, or more likely now on Zoom or Skype. However, thanks to Comic Relief and the organization’s providers like Hasbro UK Limited and Warwick Castle, it will be a reality for at least one group of adventurers. Hopefully another event like this will open up for worldwide audiences when outreach to the rest of the world opens up for this type of one of a kind Dungeons and Dragons setting.
