Game development is a complex process, and it could take three to four years or sometimes more to develop modern AAA games. The games industry is notoriously famous for announcing games that are not going to be releasing anytime soon. And while these announcements can be an exhilarating moment that most people cherish, fans have to wait painfully long to get their hands on them. FromSoftware‘s upcoming action RPG Elden Ring is a prime example of this.
Ever since Elden Ring was announced at E3 2019, fans have been itching for more information about the game. Unfortunately, FromSoftware has maintained an eerie silence ever since the game was announced about two years ago, and there’s no confirmation on when fans could get a glimpse of the enigma that is Elden Ring. Fortunately, Elden Ring’s SubReddit community is brimming with fan-made projects that have brought the game to life in fantastical ways. One recent creative endeavor is from a Reddit user who did a rendition of Miley Cyrus’ Wrecking Ball to a song about Elden Ring’s release date.
Reddit user ArchibaldBeddows posted a four minutes long video of a fan-made Elden Ring song that rekindled the spirit of the Elden Ring community. The Chorus of it goes “When will they release Elden Ring? Can’t take no more, we’re tragic things.” The rendition is quite catchy, and as expected received the appraisal from the community. One Reddit user, xLordEnder, replied with, “Humanity Restored.” Whereas, another user, Jean_Marc_Rupestre said,” This is now the song of our people, we thank you deeply.”
With time, fans have learned to keep themselves busy until the next installment of a game from their favorite franchise or their favorite developer hits the shelves. Some video game communities are more active than the others, and while there are many creatively-invested fans out there of different video game franchises, there is none quite the likes of the SoulsBorne or Elden Ring ones. Elden Ring communities are brimming with hilarious Elden Ring memes, deep fakes, fan-made lore, fan-made concept art, and more.
The recent Elden Ring leaks did give fans a glimpse of what the game would look like. Aside from the groundbreaking leaks, a recent Bandai Namco trademark also led many to believe that an Elden Ring reveal event is nearby. Unfortunately, nothing of such a caliber has come to fruition, and another rumor suggested that the game has been internally delayed, and a 2021 release seems unlikely.
Elden Ring is currently in development for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
