Monster Hunter Rise is off to a flying start.
Capcom has announced today that Monster Hunter Rise has shipped over 4 million copies globally since its release on March 26. Usually, Capcom’s figures include both physical shipments and direct digital sales to customers, but Capcom did not make this distinction today.
Nevertheless, 4 million in three days is nothing to sneeze at. By comparison, Monster Hunter World shipped 5 million units when it released in January 2018 on PS4 and Xbox One. The game’s PC debut a year later was estimated to have shifted 2 million copies.
Rise is coming to PC early next year, so it’ll be interesting to see how big of a debut it makes there.
Monster Hunter Rise has been well received by critics and fans. In our review, James Billcliffe praised the game’s quality-of-life changes and the many smaller tweaks it makes to the experience.
As of December 31, the Monster Hunter series has shipped over 66 million units globally. For more on the latest Monster Hunter, check out our Monster Hunter Rise guides at the link.
