Monster Hunter Rise: Where to Find Meaty Hide | Game Rant

Monster Hunter Rise, like past Monster Hunter games, tasks players with hunting down large, ferocious monsters in order to turn their parts into powerful weapons and armor sets. Some materials are harder to get than others, which is where this guide comes into play. For the players out there that are wondering how to get their hands on some Meaty Hide, this guide will give players the information they need to get it quick and easy.

Meaty Hide can be found by carving one of the small monsters in Monster Hunter Rise called Zamite. These amphibious-like creatures can be found in the second locale that the game takes players to, which is the Frost Islands. Meaty Hide has a 38% chance of being obtained through carving, so even if players find a few of them while on a quest, it’s important to know that it’s not guaranteed to pop up. If players need to, they can easily go on an expedition to the Frost Islands by speaking to the woman at the Village Quest Counter in Kamura Village. This way, they can freely explore the locale without needing to worry about a time limit.

If players look at the image of the map below, they will see two marked locations in red. These are where Zamite can be found. They’ll typically be swimming underneath the water with their heads slightly popping out and once players start to deal damage, they’ll jump out of the water and can then be carved once slain. Players can head to the area just north of section 8 to find two or three of them, and then they can head to the underground area of section 11 to find a few more hanging out.

To get an idea of how these monsters look, players can check out the screenshot below so that they don’t miss them. Since they’re basic small monsters, they should not fight back too hard once players start beating on it. Once it’s dead, players can carve it just like any other monster by pressing the A button while standing over its corpse. If players end up killing several of these and still cannot find the Meaty Hide, they should leave the locale, return to Kamura, and try to visit the location again. The small monsters will respawn, allowing hunters the chance to find the item once more.

Monster Hunter Rise is now available as a Nintendo Switch timed exclusive. A PC port of the game will launch in 2022.
