Monster Hunter Rise: Where to Get Firelanterns for Roly-Poly Lanterns

Roly-poly Lanterns is a Gathering Quest in Monster Hunter Rise that instructs players to visit the Shrine Ruins and find eight Firelanterns. While this is a fairly straightforward task, as there are numerous sources for Firelanterns scattered across the map, some issues can arise as fans work to collect them. Addressing those potential issues is the precise purpose of this guide, and players that read on should have no trouble completing Monster Hunter Rise‘s Roly-Poly Lanterns quest.

To start, Firelanterns are obtained by interacting with Shimmering Red Berry plants, and there are 10 of them in Monster Hunter Rise‘s Shrine Ruins. If a player is on the Roly-poly Lanterns quest, then these objects should show up as green dots on their map, making it quite easy to navigate to them. Players will need to climb and use their Wiredash ability to reach some of the Shimmering Red Berries, though, and the video that is featured below demonstrates exactly how to access a number of these plants.

For those players that are not seeing the Shimmering Red Berries marked on their maps with green dots, there is another way to determine their positions. More specifically, fans should pull up the detailed map of Shrine Ruins and then highlight “Shimmering Red Berry” under the Special Items tab. Alternatively, Monster Hunter Rise players can fully circumvent the need to locate the plants on their in-game maps by simply watching the following video, and indeed that may be the easiest option.

Upon collecting the eighth Firelantern, fans should receive immediate indication that they have completed Roly-Poly Lanterns and are being sent back to Kamura Village. Indeed, while the quest description suggests that the items need to be “delivered,” just obtaining them is enough to get the job done. This means that MHR players should be able to get through this task fairly quickly, and they will be free to continue their adventures and hunt more monsters thereafter.

To note, Firelanterns are not the only items that can be acquired from Shimmering Red Berry plants, as these nodes are also a source for Wisplanterns. Players that decide to take on Monster Hunter Rise‘s Cultural Exchange Request will thus need to visit the Shrine Ruins once more in order to collect three of those items. These fans will also need to make a trip to Frost Island, where they will find the Boatshells that they need to complete the Cultural Exchange side quest.

Monster Hunter Rise is currently available on Nintendo Switch, with a PC version coming in 2022.
