A lot of big-name titles are releasing later this year, but Resident Evil Village is one that members of the gaming community have been curious about for months now. Following the tremendous success of Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village is looking to expand upon what came before it in a major way. With the game’s release just a few months away, Capcom is finding inventive ways to advertise the game.
Much like the months leading up to the release of Resident Evil 7, there’s not much definitive information regarding the game. Naturally, this has led to fan speculation and a multitude of crazy theories regarding Resident Evil Village. Though, one thing that many fans are aware of and excited for is the game’s primary villain: Lady Dimitrescu.
Ever since she was featured more prominently in recent Resident Evil Village trailers, Lady Dimitrescu has gained a massive amount of fan popularity, and Capcom has certainly taken notice. As a result, a couple of Japanese game stores have taken to advertising the game with a life-sized, cardboard cut-out of Lady Dimitrescu as a way of promoting the game.
Ever since the vampire lady’s height was discovered back in January, both the internet and the Resident Evil community has been captivated by her character. Dimitrescu has since been featured in a large variety of memes, fan-art, and cosplays, to the point where her character rivals some of the most memorable and popular characters ever featured in the Resident Evil franchise.
Although, it still begs to question how her character will relate to the narrative featured in Resident Evil Village and how that, in turn, relates to the overarching Resident Evil timeline. In fairness, there were a lot of aspects about Resident Evil 7 that seemed to have nothing to do with the main series on the offset. Luckily, by the time the story wrapped up, the game was able to tie itself back to the Resident Evil timeline, which is what Resident Evil Village, presumably, is looking to do.
In any case, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Resident Evil Village. The game’s release date is just over a month away and there’s a a demo for Resident Evil Village called Maiden that’s available to download now on PS5. While a lot of information has been made public regarding the game already, there’s still a lot for fans to discover once Resident Evil Village finally releases.
Resident Evil Village will be available on May 7, 2021, for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
