Jimmy “Mr Beast” Donaldson has made quite the name for himself as a YouTube star. Mr Beast is known for his outrageous giveaways, entertaining challenges, and his caring personality. Mr Beast has branched out from just giveaways and challenges with the creation of a Mr Beast gaming channel, a philanthropy channel, a reaction channel, and a comedy shorts channel, all boasting over 5 million subscribers each on YouTube. Now, Mr Beast’s main channel has hit an insane milestone, and the YouTuber was surprised with an impressive gift.
Mr Beast has been a content creator on YouTube since 2012. The 22-year old Streamy Award winner recently hit 50 million subscribers on his main channel, an achievement only met by a select few including Dude Perfect, Justin Beiber, Pewdiepie, and a few more. YouTuber and 3D artist Daniel Krafft took the opportunity to design a custom “Play Button,” a statue given to creators by YouTube when they reach a certain subscriber milestone.
After creating an impressive design for the “Play Button,” Krafft was surprised that Mr Beast took notice and requested that the statue be built. Krafft then went to work building the 100 lb. statue which consists of a mix between gold, titanium, other metals, and the eye of the Mr Beast logo made from the oldest meteorite ever recorded. The impressive statue was then presented to Mr Beast in a large wooden box with an extravagant interior that displays names of those who have contributed to Mr Beast’s YouTube channel.
In total, Krafft says the statue took “three months and about $15,000 to make.” Mr Beast revealed that YouTube does not give out “Play Buttons” anymore so the statue Krafft was able to create is a great replacement. While the cost of the statue may be lucrative, the achievement by Mr Beast and the creation of the statue by Daniel Krafft will create priceless memories and entertaining content for viewers.
The cost of the statue is relatively small compared to the amount of money given away in Mr Beast videos and donated to charitable organizations. Recently, Mr Beast gave away $100,000 for the second Finger on the App Challenge, and also has released a video offering people $100,000 to quit their jobs. Mr Beast has also made incredible philanthropic efforts, having raised over $72 million for the Arbor Day Foundation.
Mr Beast’s fanbase still continues to grow. After receiving the 50 million subscriber “Play Button,” Mr Beast has already racked up nearly 6 million more subscribers. The YouTuber continues to help smaller streamers and is releasing entertaining giveaways and contests weekly.
