Monster Hunter Rise contains many armor sets that players can aspire to craft. Whether motivated by the desire for higher stats, or the idea of wearing a stylish new outfit, the fact remains that seeing new gear available at the blacksmith is exciting. Some crafting materials are very rare or elusive though. One item in particular that players may seek out in Monster Hunter Rise is the Stargazer Flower, and it isn’t obtained through conventional means.
The Stargazer Flower is a rare item that can only be found by using the services of an optional NPC in the Buddy Plaza area of Kamura Village. Players who haven’t spent much time speaking to Kogarashi might not be aware of how helpful he and his Meowcenaries are. It’s possible for a hunter to send out their additional Buddies on missions with Meowcenaries to get extra materials and items. It should be noted that there is a point cost for this service, so players who haven’t gathered many account items during quests might be tight on currency. This guide will explain how to use this system to obtain the rare Stargazer Flower item.
When choosing a Scout Location from the Meowcenaries menu, players may notice that some areas are designated with a blue sparkle icon. This means that rare varieties of a certain type of resource can currently be obtained from that area. To get Stargazer Flowers, the Meowcenaries should be sent to the Frost Islands where rare plant-type resources can be found. Up to four Buddies can be sent on a mission at once, so it’s important to put all paws on deck when rare items are on the line.
To help ensure that the desired items are brought home from a mission, the player can use a Lagniapple from the departure screen. Lagniapples are a limited resource that increases the yields from Meowcenaries missions and Argosy trades. Players who want to stock up on this resource should frequently check the Cohoot Nest in the Buddy Plaza – it’s on top of the tree with a shrine at its base.
Stargazer Flowers are a key material used to craft the Edel armor set. This is a great armor set to strive for early on, and it can continue to be useful against monsters that spit poison. The poison-resistant armor skills of the Edel set make it a great choice for challenging Great Wroggi, Bishaten, or Pukei-Pukei.
It’s clear that some of the rarer items in Monster Hunter Rise can’t be carved from monsters or found during quests. Players who want to collect as much as possible and maximize their hunting strategies will have to make use of the Meowcenaries and the Argosy as well. It’s worth the effort, as these methods also help in keeping the hunter’s inventory stocked with essentials like Lifepowder materials and trap materials. No amount of preparation is too much.
