Two Xbox Free Games with Gold for April 2021 Available to Download Early

Two of April’s Xbox Games with Gold are now available for download one day early. Interested players can grab the Xbox One game Vikings: Wolves of Midgard and the Xbox 360 title Dark Void right now.

Each month, Xbox offers free Xbox One and 360 games to play for its Gold and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. Each game has a window in which it can be downloaded but, once done, it remains in the player’s library even after the window ends.

There are four total titles this April, the two aforementioned games as well as Truck Racing Championship and Hard Corps: Uprising. Vikings: Wolves of Midgard, an action RPG, is available to download now until April 30 while Dark Void, a third-person shooter, is only available until the 15th of this month. The other two games open up for availability on April 16th with Truck Racing Championship extending until May 15th while run and gun game, Hard Corps: Uprising, is available until April 30. Without Gold or Game Pass these games vary in price from $14.99 to $59.99.

The two games available for download now offer different experiences for Xbox Gold and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers and Xbox opening the window early for players is a great surprise. For RPG players, Vikings: Wolves of Midgard puts players in a mythological world and offers gameplay similar to Diablo. Dark Void was not relatively well received upon its release in 2010 and offers players a mix of action-adventure and shooter tendencies.

Games with Gold is a relatively good opportunity for anyone that wants to expand their game library and try titles that may not have been on their radar before. Unfortunately, this month’s offering is a mixed bag. There aren’t any huge names on this month’s list but rather some interesting titles in their respective genres. Racing fans have Truck Racing Championship, shooter fans have Hard Corps: Uprising and Dark Void, while RPG fans have Vikings: Wolves of Midgard.

At the end of the day it boils down to personal preference and if those genres aren’t interesting then this month’s Games with Gold doesn’t offer too much. The option to download games and keep them is nice when it comes to Games with Gold but the options aren’t often up to par for players. It is a great chance to fill out a player’s library but not always the best choice for grabbing major titles or critically acclaimed work.
