Season 8 of Apex Legends has featured both the second anniversary event and the Chaos Theory events, and now is gearing up to launch another event soon. The Chaos Theory event featured the limited-time mode Ring Fury, which cast ring flares throughout the map and had Fuse’s old friend Mad Maggie commentating each game. Now, a leak suggests that Mad Maggie may be returning to take over a number of LTMs within the upcoming War Games event.
Reliable dataminer iLootGames shared seven different LTMs that may be possibly included in the Apex Legends War Games event. According to the leak, the LTMs will change every 48 hours, suggesting that the event will last two weeks if there turns out to be seven LTMs. The previous Collection Events have been two weeks long, so the War Games event may follow the same blueprint.
The descriptions of the LTMs are done by Salvo mercenary Mad Maggie, suggesting that she may be back to commentating each game. The first LTM “Killing Time” will feature the round timer shortening with each elimination. The second LTM “Auto Banner” will have player banners automatically retrieved upon being eliminated, and will have more mobile respawns in the loot pool.
The third LTM “Auto Regen” will be very interesting, as player shields will auto regenerate outside of combat much like Wattson’s new ability. The fourth LTM will be Ring Fury, the fifth is expected to be like the Locked and Loaded LTM. The sixth LTM “Ultra Zones” will feature more hot zones and each engulfed in a Flashpoint, which heal players over time. The last LTM is expected to be “Last Chance,” which will automatically respawn players once with all their gear.
The War Games event may be similar to the two previous Collection events based on the previously leaked War Games prize tracker. According to the leak, the prize tracker will feature four battle pass levels, two charms, epic Rampart and 30-30 Repeater skins, a rare Crypto skin, and Caustic trackers.
According to the dataminer, the event is scheduled to start on April 13, but it may be moved up a week due to the delayed release of the Chinatown Market skins. The clothing company announced a name change, leading to Respawn delaying the release of the Apex Legends skins to be redesigned. Respawn has not yet revealed when the skins will be released, but has stated that they will be released following the redesign.
Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch.
