Nintendo’s ‘The Download’ Video Highlights March’s Downloadable Games

March was another big month for the Nintendo Switch. Whether it be monumental third-party ports or massive exclusives, this month’s “The Download” video from Nintendo highlights some of the heavy hitters for the Switch.

Nintendo ends each month with a quick video showcasing games big and small that fans can now pick up and play, thanks to the game releasing that month. Perhaps there is no bigger game for Nintendo than the highly-received Monster Hunter Rise, a Switch exclusive and one of the highlights for the month of March.

Another big March game for the Big N was the Nintendo Switch version of Apex Legends. While the port of Apex Legends came with its flaws from a technical standpoint, it is exciting to see more online multiplayer-focused games come to the platform, and “The Download” reiterates this as well. Another big name March game (and another port), was Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, a game that originally released on the PS4 and Xbox One in October of 2020.

The video also is a perfect chance to point out some lesser-known titles or indie-developed games like Later Alligator, Gnosia, Signs of the Sojourner, Mail Mole, Kaze and the Wild Mask, or the stylish ’80 and retro-themed Narita Boy. In addition to those entries, BALAN WONDERWORLD, 3 out of 10: Season One, Genesis Noir, Can’t Drive This, STORY OF SEASONS: Pioneers of Olive Town, and Sea of Solitude: The Director’s Cut all made the video cut and are solid March Nintendo Switch options, as the month was a good one for indie games as a whole.
