Facebook today announced the launch of several new cloud-streamed games that users can now play in the Facebook app on Android and the web. Unlike Google’s Stadia or Amazon’s Luna, however, it’s not a standalone cloud gaming service.

Starting today, Facebook users in certain parts of the U.S. can find new free-to-play cloud-streamed games in the Gaming tab. The initial lineup includes Asphalt 9: Legends, Mobile Legends: Adventure, PGA TOUR Golf Shootout, Solitaire: Arthur’s Tale, and WWE SuperCard. You can finally mute conversations forever on WhatsApp

To mute a chat forever, you will have to open WhatsApp and long press on the chat that you want to mute. Next, tap on the mute icon at the top, and select “Always.” In addition to individual chats, you can also mute group chats forever. If you use the WhatsApp Web client, you can access the feature by right-clicking on a chat and selecting the “Mute Notification” option.

WhatsApp for Android may soon let you unlock with your face

WhatsApp is working on adding support for face unlock as an authentication method on Android.

A teardown of the latest WhatsApp beta v2.20.203.3 by the folks at WABetaInfo has revealed that the app could soon add support for face unlock on Android.

As can be seen in the screenshot below, the “Fingerprint Lock” setting will be renamed to “Biometric Lock” once the feature rolls out. Similar to the existing fingerprint lock, the upcoming feature will allow users with devices that support face unlock to keep their chats private.

While most Android phones are equipped with fingerprint scanners, a few devices such as Google’s Pixel 4 offer 3D facial recognition as the only means for biometric authentication.
