Cyberpunk 2077 for Stadia

CD Projekt RED’s open-world epic may not be the genre-defining revolution a lot had hoped for, but the Stadia version plays great. While the PS4 and Xbox One editions currently suffer from horrible performance issues and tons of bugs, the Stadia version is very comparable to playing on a gaming PC and is arguably the best way to play the game. I enjoyed it quite a lot in my review and am excited to see it get better.

Outriders for Stadia releases with launch issues and broken cross-play

2 4 月, 2021 David Jagneaux 0

Outriders is out now across all platforms, but the Stadia version is suffering from some big launch issues like broken cross-play.

What you need to know

Outriders is out now for Stadia and all other platforms.
Cross-play does not work at all on Stadia right now.
The Stadia build is an outdated version of the game and is suffering from several other launch bugs and issues.

Outriders released on April 1 for Stadia and all other platforms. I’ve been playing it myself and am around five hours in so far—you can check back later this month for my full review of the Stadia version. As of now I’m having fun with how the Trickster controls, so it’s too bad the game itself is struggling in basically every way, way more than other Stadia games.

For starters, the majority of launch day was entirely unplayable. On the official Outriders ‘Status’ website, both ‘Core Components’ and ‘Multiplayer’ were marked as experiencing “Partial Outage” and would frequently disconnect me when trying…

Terraria on Stadia Review: Pixel perfect building in a procedural sandbox

1 4 月, 2021 David Jagneaux 0

Terraria on Stadia is about as excellent of a port as you could ask for, all the way down to the pixel-perfect graphics.

Terraria is a fascinating game. Not only is it one of the best-selling indie games of all-time, but it also remains popular and topical to this day with the resurgence in popularity of survival sandbox games. Billed as a sort of 2D Minecraft, Terraria is all about gradually collecting resources, building shelter, and fighting hordes of enemies as you explore and craft your way to glory either alone or with friends and—thankfully—the Stadia version is a perfect port of this pixel-themed classic that plays great on mobile with a wireless Stadia controller — though keyboard and mouse is the best way to play.

Terraria dev resolves issues with Google, game launches on Stadia next week

10 3 月, 2021 David Jagneaux 0

The game was canceled a month ago and then un-canceled.

What you need to know

Terraria is releasing for Stadia on March 18.
The game’s developer canceled the port earlier this year before resolving a dispute with Google.
Pricing details are unannounced, but it will be the latest (v1.4.0.5) version of the game.

Today, Google announced via Twitter that Terraria is officially releasing for Stadia next week on March 18. With no Minecraft or Roblox, Terraria is primed to immediately become one of the deepest sandbox building Stadia games alongside free-to-play creation game Crayta.

Terraria began as, more or less, a 2D pixel art version of Minecraft, but it’s evolved into much more of a “game” with deep lore, tons of bosses and enemies, and a heavy focus on co-op exploration and action-adventure-meets-platformer gameplay.

Pricing details are not available yet, but since Terraria is only $10 on PC it will likely cost the same on Stadia.

Review: Madden NFL 21 on Stadia is a great port of a lackluster sports game

24 2 月, 2021 David Jagneaux 0

Even though Madden NFL 21 is one of the weakest recent entries in the franchise, it’s still an excellent port that runs beautifully on Stadia.

The Stadia community is in a weird spot with Madden NFL 21. On the one hand, it’s not a great game in the franchise and has very few updates or changes that make it stand out from recent years. However, on the other hand, it’s the first and only Madden game on Stadia and as a debut, it’s actually quite robust with a really good foundation. It’s not one of the best Stadia games by any means, but for sports fans, it certainly scratches an itch.

So if you want to show EA that you’re eager to have Madden and other sports titles on Stadia, buying it is the best way to do that. That said, it could also further encourage the laziness that’s become so prevalent with this franchise over the years. Bit of a toss-up either way.
