Google Stadia just passed the one-year anniversary mark last month and over the past year, it’s grown considerably. Looking at the list of every game on Stadia the consistent quality of its Pro subscription offering is becoming apparent.

Google is kicking off the last month of 2020 with a bang as well by launching two brand new Stadia-exclusives today that are being added into the Pro subscription, as well as six new games for Pro earlier this week.

Review: Outcasters isn’t a killer-app for Stadia, but it’s still pretty fun

3 12 月, 2020 David Jagneaux 0

Mixing the quirky charm of Fall Guys with an inventive twin-stick shooting format.

Slowly but surely, Google is building out a library of quality Stadia games. With recent examples such as Destiny 2 and Super Bomberman R Online both going free-to-play for anyone and everyone, the ecosystem should be thriving with new users. That’s why it could be the perfect time to launch an addictive and fun new competitive game like Outcasters.

The premise here is pretty simple: You dress up your little squishy blob character in different outfits, shoot fireballs at each other, and unlock new customization options along the way. It controls like a twin-stick shooter and has just enough quirky charm to feel like its own beast, but it’s still lacking enough depth and variety to get a wholesale recommendation.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure review in progress — LittleBig 3D platformer

13 11 月, 2020 David Jagneaux 0

LittleBigPlanet’s star finally gets the full spotlight.

I’ve always felt like the LittleBigPlanet universe had a lot more potential than Sony seemed to give it credit for. Sackboy is iconic and identifiable in a way few video game characters are and platformers have always been tried-and-true formats for delivering mascot characters in the game industry.

Whereas the mainline LBP games tended to drift more towards creation platforms with user-levels overshadowing the brief campaigns, there is tremendous potential for a fully-realized adventure to rival the likes of Mario, Crash, and Sonic. From what I’ve seen so far, Sumo Digital seems to have finally pulled it off.
