Facebook is improving its most interlinked messaging apps.
Facebook Messenger is gaining new themes, stickers to commemorate AAPI month, as well as tap-to-record.
For Instagram, the company is adding themes, a new read receipts feature, and new, more visual replies.

Facebook’s messaging apps are already best in class, and the company today announced new features to keep it that way for both Instagram and Messenger. When it comes to Messenger, this update adds a lot. Messenger is getting new themes and stickers. It may be too late for May the 4th, but there’s a new Star Wars sticker pack regardless. You’ll also find one for Selena The Series. The company is also rolling out new stickers for Asian and Pacific Islanders…

It’s time for Google to invest in a high-end Chrome OS tablet

30 4 月, 2021 Michael Allison 0

The iPad Pro is eating Google’s lunch, so where’s the Lenovo Duet Pro?

Google’s Chrome OS powers more than just laptops. From devices as large as desktops to small children’s tablets, the operating system is flexible enough to work on a variety of devices. While Chromebooks have been steadily creeping higher in price and specs over the past couple of years, the same can’t be said about Chrome tablets. Yes, we’ve seen some excellent ones like the Lenovo Duet, which perform well for their price. Still, it’s been a while since we’ve seen one that could take on the likes of the iPad Pro or Surface Pro and make a good argument for why you should pick it over those devices, and that’s a real shame.

The Pixel Slate was the first and last prosumer Chrome OS tablet.

Before Chrome tablets were a thing, Google once pushed Android tablets as iPad rivals. It had its own Nexus tablet line, and every other Android manufacturer had an Android tablet at one point. There’s an argument to be mad…

23 4 月, 2021 Michael Allison 0

These new settings are available now.

What you need to know

YouTube now offers new streaming settings on the mobile app.
The new settings include a high-quality setting, a data saver option, and an advanced option for defining your preferred resolution.
It’s widely available on Android via a server-side update.

Google is rolling out an update to the YouTube mobile app that’ll give you more control over the video quality (via Android Police). It’s a bit of a step-up from what users had before on phones, but it basically lets you decide how the YouTube app uses your mobile data.
Previously you could choose either “auto” or just choose the precise resolution you wanted, think 480p, 720p, or 1080p. Now, you have a more complex settings menu. This makes you able to choose auto, higher picture quality, data saver, or advanced. It’s a bit of a change, but it does put more power in the hand of the users, albeit needlessly complicating what used to be a simple thing.

Auto is the same…
