2021’s NPD results are continuing and thanks to the efforts of analyst Mat Piscatella, we have a breakdown of the best-selling games in the U.S. (in dollar sales), tracked from January 31 to February 27.

For game sales, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was finally dethroned and has been knocked to the #2 spot, while newcomer Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury was the best-selling game of the month. Notably, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales continues to show strong legs in fourth place, while the 2019 title Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is at #10.

Mediatonic’s 2020 title Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout helped propel the developer into stardom.

Mediatonic is a game development studio most recently known for Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout.
Today, Epic Games announced that it was acquiring Mediatonic and its parent company Tonic Games Group.
Epic Games is looking at bringing new features like cross-play to Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout but has nothing concrete to announce for now.

Publisher Epic Games is acquiring Mediatonic, the studio behind several games but most recently Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. The purchase, which was made for an undisclosed price, will see Mediatonic join other Epic Games studios like Rocket League developer Psyonix. Google, Bungie and id Software are facing a class-action lawsuit over claims of running games on Stadia at 4K.
The lawsuit claims that the development studios and Google mislead consumers with what the streaming service was capable of.

Google, id Software and Bungie are facing a class-action lawsuit over the capabilities of the Stadia streaming platform.
